With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.
That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.
Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened, but that night, Feb. 26, and in later meetings he described and re-enacted for police what he says happened.
In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

Totally agree, simply walking up to a strange face in the neighborhood and welcoming them (letting them know you are watching) is a great deterrent for crimes of opportunity.
Is SYG Zimmerman’s defense? As I understand it his defense will be straight up self defense. Stop trying to knock down straw men.

Absolutely. All I’m saying is that the evidence to date supports Zimmerman’s story, and there is no burden on him to show he’s innocent of wrongdoing. This man is getting death threats, there are bounties out on his head, and there are elected officials and other people basically convicting a guy that hasn’t even been charged with anything. It’s disgraceful.
And just because the media lies, doesn't mean that we have to help them. Claiming he's Jewish when he isn't doesn't add anything to the discussion.

Stalking is a serious crime involving repeated non-stop longterm harrassment...restraining orders, police protection, etc.

I’m not sure why the gold teeth matter, but at least we have a real and current photo. Folks this weekend were posting photos that didn’t even look like Martin.
POLITICS-NEPOTISM: So why did Zimmerman get this special consideration and treatment that I know any other typical citizen would not get in the same situation? Why? What is so special or unique about Zimmerman that gave him this gracious by the cops to not be detained or arrested until further investigation to protect the public?
Because the cops knew him because he had trained with the sheriff’s office wanting to be one.
And, most importantly, Zimmerman’s father is a retired magistrate judge. Ahhhhh….now I have the answer to that question as to why Zimmerman was treated differently in this situation than just the average citizen in the same position.
So with that preferential treatment toward Zimmerman now flavoring the investigation and prosecution of his guilty murdering ***…it is only natural that black people now play the race card and insinuate a hate crime flavor to counter the injustice of Zimmerman’s preferential treatment by the police.
All Zimmerman had to do was keep his distance and observe. The kid would have made it to his father’s door to watch the rest of the game and live the rest of his young life. end of copy

I’m not obsessed with race. Too many freepers are hating on a minor who was shot to death (reason or cause to be determined). Zimmerman’s dad was a retired US Magistrate. The Sanford police were tight w/his honor. Can’t arrest his honor’s goofy kid.
