U.S. intelligence agencies monitoring Chinas Internet say that from March 14 to Wednesday bloggers circulated alarming reports of tanks entering Beijing and shots being fired in the city as part of what is said to have been a high-level political battle among party leaders - and even a possible military coup.
The Internet discussions included photos posted online of tanks and other military vehicles moving around Beijing.

I haven’t heard anything about this, but I think about a week ago, word came out that a senior Party leader, who was in line to become President, had been unexpectedly purged. The reports I heard made it seem quiet and business-like.

BBC is playing it down as "just a rumor".
UK Daily Mail thinks it might be true.
Watch for the markets to get agitated. Unrest in China means a lot of US companies might not get their Chinese-made parts or products.
