I he wanted to continue to have a prominent radio show, he probably had no choice, BUT, apologies never work with the left. They won’t stop until they get rid of everyone that speaks out against them. FOX, Hannity, Rush, Beck, Palin... Their goal is stifle free speech, and they are winning, if they haven’t already won.

Terribly disappointing.
I’ve tuned into him nearly every weekday, and gratefully so, since 1988.
We’ve all heard Rush hedge a little in the past, and at times more or less rearrange his phrasing or his stance on one issue or another.
But beyond that he was always the one guy who stood by the hard truth and at times the hard word.
Now he is no different from any other pol or bigmouth who, in the face of pressure, shrugs and says he didn’t mean it.
If he couldn’t take the heat from his sponsors and so on, then he shouldn’t have put himself out there, and us with him.
Rush kneels at the feet of the money god.
Yah, remember when he had the condom on the microphone, or the “caller abortions?”

No, Bill Maher is not more equal than Rush.
Bill Maher is not a nationally respected figure. He is a self-styled comedian whereas Rush is a commentator.
Bill Maher has a smallish but select audience who love his nastiness.
Rush has a broad audience of mostly conservative people.
After thinking it through, he was right to put this to bed (no pun intended) and be through with it. If he’s smart, he’ll not discuss it again.
He was on the cutting edge by bringing this opinion to the fore. He’s now off the hook by his bland apology which also contained his contempt for political correctness.

If he had asked for a show of support BEFORE conceding anything it would be different. If he lost after we rallied to his defense it would be different.

He could easily charge $10 a month for an internet stream and get at least five million of the 20 million plus to sign up. That's 600 million a year plus all his lawyers can get from anyone who redistributes anything from his stream without whatever price he demands.

How does the cost make her a "slut, tart, tramp"? It's not like one needs to take more birth control if they're having more sex; doesn't work like that. Her remarks about the cost make her a liar, sure, but not a slut.
She siad $3000 during law school. I imagine that is based on a monthly cost, which is how contraceptives are typically purchased, not a “per act” cost.
It just seems that by shifting the argument away from actual facts and venturing into name-calling, there is no way to have an honest debate about the issue. Kind of counterproductive, don’t you think?
