ARMED guards are protecting Whitney Houstons grave from bling-hunting robbers.
Fears that ghouls will plunder her resting place were triggered after it was revealed she was buried wearing up to £300,000 of jewels and designer clothes.
The singer, who died a fortnight ago in her LA hotel room after a drugs and booze binge, lies in a gold-lined coffin worth tens of thousands of pounds.
She is draped in a purple gown and also wears a diamond brooch and earrings and a pair of glittering gold slippers.
But the treasure-filled casket has caused alarm among the stars family and friends.
And now minders have been ordered to watch over her grave-side at Fairview Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey.
A source said last night: There is a very genuine fear that her coffin will be targeted by grave robbers.

We saw Elvis last year when camping in Yellowstone. He was keeping the Grizzley bears away from the campers.
Ever wonder what is now wrong with America? Look no further that who is hailed by the sheeple as heroes when they buck out in the game of life.
Drug addicts, sex perverts, and then there is MLK , his dissipations would fill volumes.
Most apt.
“The only thing about the whole Whitney Houston fiasco that has had any sense of class, was Kevin Costners touching eulogy at her funeral.”
Finally, someone Kevin Costner admires who he can’t make a movie about casting himself as that person!
It does seem rather unlikely.
I’d almost be willing to bet that the initial reports are confusing the “window dressing” (for lack of a better term off hand) for what was the final burial appearance. It’s not exactly rare for the jewels to be stripped before burial and returned to the family.
Of course, with her alleged financial issues... it’s also entirely possible that the jewels were costume anyways or on loan.

I doubt this too. I don’t believe that the Star is a very reliable news source. More like a scandal rag, I believe.
I doubt the jewelry and clothes are even with the body in that casket.
Does anybody really believe that? I don't. That would be really stupid.
All jewerly is usually removed by the funeral director before going into the hearse...wonder if the jewels being buried with her is truth if so they family is crazy...or maybe paste replica’s of her jewelry...many have fakes made and the real one’s kept in a safe, per insurance coverage...
WTF?
Give her a nice dress and some nice earrings.
Don’t dress her up like a pharoah.
Just dig a couple hundred new graves around Whitney and fill the coffins with those new edition Nike bassetball shoes. That will throw the grave diggers off track and save the Pharoah’s jewels.
“That would be really stupid.”
Agreed, my mom told me - there should be no jewelry buried with the body.
As the other poster said, there is no need of it. And you never know, those who remain may need it.
I was thinking that Alistair Cooke’s grave was plundered for less, but I guess that was done by a ring of criminal funeral directors..They even replaced his stolen femurs with pvc pipe.
Anybody really believe they buried her with real jewelry?
Totally needed and necessary. It's long past the time we gloss over and honor crackheads and junkies just because they had talent and threw it away. I grew up in the same neighborhood as she did in East Orange, NJ. We moved out as it was starting to deteriorate. My former Grammar School is named after her, which is pretty fitting if you know what kind of hellhole East Orange has become. Here's praying that other kids don't follow her example, even if the Principal of the school calls her a role model. Is that the kind of role model you want for your kids?
Certainly not Charlie Chaplin
That would be really sick.
Apparently her toxicology reports came back and they indicated that she had a very high amout of Xanax,Valium and alcohol in her system, and that her heart had stopped. She didn’t drown.
