LAS VEGAS – Nevada Republicans early Monday released the final results of their Saturday morning caucuses.

As projected, Mitt Romney easily won for a second time after his 2008 victory in the state. Romney finished with 50 percent.

Newt Gingrich came in second with 21.1 percent, edging out Ron Paul who had 18.7 percent. Paul won second place in Nevada in 2008. Rick Santorum finished last with 9.9 percent.

The results came nearly two days after voters began casting ballots Saturday morning.

GOP officials blamed the delay on voting discrepancies and the old-fashioned voting method of handwritten ballots.

Thanks for the post and like we all knew, Mitt was going to hit the 50% mark one way or the other.

When activists and the party join together to leave our current four running as the best they feel we should choose from it shouldn’t be a surprise many people would rather stay home. I’m not voting for any of these guys and skipping the election this year.

I wonder if they think we believe them. It's likely they don't care whether we do or not. They may even enjoy sticking it to us.

I remember reading somewhere that when the USSR rolled into conquered countries with their tanks, the first group killed was local prominent communists. I didn't use to understand that, but I think I'm starting to get it.

If we are forced into CWII or RWII, IMO the ones we should fear most and never trust are our own self appointed “elite”.

I hate to use the word “elite” for these corrupt, dishonest sell outs because most of the people I know are better than they are in every category that matters except for money and power. Of course, they think that's all that matters.

Just because 12,000 or so mormon cultists in Nevada voted for their high priest doesn’t mean he is the nominee.

President Obama and his mainstream media enablers gleefully approves of your attitude.

As long as there can be fighting among conservatives, his hate America church and Marxist agenda can continue their advance with little challenge.

I’m not sure I can really take seriously ANY election in which it takes 2 days to count the votes.

We live in an age where numbers can be counted instantaneously. What is the DEAL with these elections? Stop with the handwritten votes. Utilize a simple computer program of SOME KIND to obtain and tally the votes.

There is no end to the chicanery that can take place with paper ballots and 2 days to count them.

I think the field has more conservatives in it at this point than 2008, thus Romney recieved less votes as Santorum and Newt were options.

As far as LDS voting for Reid, Lincoln county is 70% LDS and only 23% of the voters in Lincoln voted for Reid over Angle, who got 67% of the vote. If Reid would have had an R after his name he might have got 90% +.

There is no end to the chicanery that can take place with paper ballots and 2 days to count them.

But you can check back on those paper ballots (they can be, and usually are, stored indefinitely), so the chicanery can be found out — by ordinary people, at that.

Whereas, in a computer program, the chicanery can be hidden from everybody, especially non-initiates.

Guess that means Heller is a Romney supporter. So that’s how she found out.

Heller has a small area in the Reno Rep Party office...which is a small space in a local almost totally abandonded strip mall. Any other questions?
