This is why I do NOT listen to, watch or read any pundits. They have an agenda that isn't necessarily ours.
I don’t if it was calculated all along .. it was last second and sounded like a spontaneous afterthought, but NOT good and a bit below the belt .. leaves a bad taste. He’ll catch hell .. and will rationalize it as he’d been reading Malkin’s endorsement earlier.
Plain and simple, I think it’s very likely his ego got involved. Earlier, he’d said that the lamestreams on MSNBC were lumping him with Sarah, Cain and Michael Reagan .. and when Newt loses, they can say: see? These conservative icons don’t have any influence. He’s certain that’s what they’ll be saying. I think he raged internally against being lumped with those he considers beneath his standing and gravitas. Like, how dare they?
Prediction: Santorum could surprise.
