Gotta love the phrase "abrupt blow".

With Mitt Romney facing the biggest challenge to his presidential aspirations since he announced his candidacy, his aides acknowledged Friday what seemed unthinkable just seven days ago: He could lose the South Carolina primary.

If you're just trying to say "Romney Blows" you're right.

Cheers!

Having been stripped of his victory in Iowa on Thursday after a recount that gave the state to Rick Santorum

He never won it in the first place. Just a little attempted cheating.

I don’t know why this is such a abrupt blow. It was only a matter of time before the conservative wing of the party coalesced around a single candidate. That that is now happening in South Carolina should have been something Romney the vaunted central planner saw coming even from as far away as Massachusetts.

Are we to understand that Mitt Romney’s team never figured that if 75% of Republican voters were clearly refusing to support him, then eventually they MIGHT coalesce behind one conservative candidate to oppose him?

Is Romney’s team THAT dumb?

I don’t like to be overly optimistic, but Gingrich could well coalesce the entire state as opposed to the Huckabee-McCain primary.
