COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum wooed the relatively small, but influential, South Carolina business class today, speaking at a conference hosted by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce today. Among the assembled business leaders at the reception after the forum -- by local standards, a pretty swanky affair -- Gingrich was a much bigger hit. Coming off a strong performance in last night's debate, Santorum stumbled a bit this evening, at one point rambling at length as he compared his plans for the economy to those of Gingrich and Romney. "Romney's a steady, but Gingrich is real exciting," said Kaki Williamson of Denmark, South Carolina. "Seemed like the crowd was big for Newt and small for Santorum."

I can understand Santorums social, engineering.
What I really dislike is his bigtime spending.
I dont like his phoney baloney stuff.
They all do it but lets face it! I hate his sweater vest BS!
It’s just like Mitt!
Politics suck!
Santorum is a professional panderer.
Agree.
The Peter Principal caught up with him
He puts me to sleep as he rambles on and on without actually getting much said.
He seems to be on guard.
I wonder if he isn't worried that the story on his wife that broke in the UK will get picked up.
You do realize why Iowa has never really counted for anything ,don't you?
In Iowa, democrats can vote - and did - in the caucuses.
Romney and Santorum each won just over 30,000 - or 60,000+ out of 122,255 cast. 25,000 democrats voted. and Paul did well,
They voted for the ones they think cannot win against obama -
I wouldn't crow about a win in Iowa.
And last I checked South Carolina was an open primary too.
“They voted for the ones they think cannot win against obama”
Ah, astute analysis. Which is why they will do the same in South Carolina too.
I don’t even count Iowa and New Hampshire, they are shams.
Well yeah, both rejected Newt ergo they are worthless. I’d wager had Newt won either they would become huge.
