Have you forgotten that 15% is for both Medicare and Social Security? Medicare is 2.9% contribution. What is the cost of Medicare over a person’s lifetime? Your numbers don’t include the real cost of healthcare plus social security vs. what’s paid in.

Yes, and at 76 years young I have never spent a dime of medicare money. You also may be forgetting that I pay for medicare out of my Social Security payment each month. Put that in your pipe...

That’s not correct. 15% is just SS, Medicare is extra both you and your employer pay.
