There is no doubt I am a cynic...but it could well be that Mr. Cain is buying a few days time to determine what impact all this is having on his campaign. “Opening his headquarters”, filing for the distant primary in a state and sending out a campaign donation solicition e-mail.

If he has any type of positive response I think he’ll stay in or “suspend” his campaign.

Negative response...he has already laid the ground work (wife, family) to gracefully bow out.

Signed,

Berdie, The Cynic

Berdie,

That’s not cynical- that’s what’s happening. When this story broke, he now understood full well that MSM/Daley Machine was going to constantly be after him- it wasn’t going to stop- ever.

So, he’s deciding whether he can devise a way to effectively counter them.

If he can’t, he has to quit. But, if he can, he takes on “Clintonian” proportions to the conservatives (not talking sex!).

I mean the Dems loved Clinton because he always spanked the Pubs...each and every time. They couldn’t beat him even when they had him cornered. Think of it- this guy launched missiles into the Middle East just to get Lewinski off the front page when she was testifyng before the Grand Jury.
He refused to lose.

If Cain comes out and says I am not going to be like all other Pubs who run like scared rabbits every time the Dem Machine tightens the screws-— he will be a hero to conservatives.

And finally, if he does, that’s why he deserves to be President. He may be lacking in many things— but this steel backbone would demonstrate exactly why he became as successful as he is-—

Now, all he has to do is stay in it. -:)
