United Way Sent $1.9 Million to Planned Parenthood in 2008
Life News ^ | 11/23/11 | Jim Graham

Each fall, United Way focuses on fundraising campaigns. Most people encounter these requests for giving through their workplace. The United Way encourages individuals to donate to a variety of local charitable organizations or to the United Way itself.

Each local United Way determines whom they will support through their grant programs and their lists of charitable organizations in the area. While most United Way organizations claim they do not fund programs for abortion services, in truth, some do support Planned Parenthood or other abortion-advocate agencies. The national United Way does fund Planned Parenthood; their website states:

No United Way funds are currently used, or have ever been used to support abortion services.

Several United Way partner agencies provide professional family and individual counseling services that include professional counseling on pregnancy-related problems.

United Way funded programs through Planned Parenthood include community health maintenance, e.g. communicable disease prevention; medical care service; family planning; health education; public awareness services; and family preservation and strengthening services, e.g. counseling and family life education.

My company had to move to another charity because everybody refused to give to United Way.

If most people and businesses knew of this, they wouldn’t give a red cent to these murderers.

I gave up on the United Way year ago because they stopped funding the Boy Scouts (because of their ‘homophobia’)

The United Way=SEIU. Same crooks, same methodology for extortion. I quit giving to the United Way back in 1965!

Don't forget about Susan G. Komen- $731,303. That is the amount donated to Planned Parenthood by Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 2009 alone. The relationship between Planned Parenthood and Susan G. Komen has been documented and objected to for so long that Komen actually has an explanation letter on their website.

It’s a money-shuffle game, IIRC. PP gets “general donations” from some sources. Then they have a few specialty non abortion services like mammograms. So then United Way donates to their mammograms. This means less of the “general donations” are used on the mammograms, and is freed up for guess what.

Sneaky, and many people don’t follow it very well.

Salvation Army gets my money. No overpaid, bloated beaurocracy and helps those in real need.

Unfortunately, The Salvation Army is another I’ve had to let go: http://www.fightpp.org/

I like Life Decision’s idea (think it was their idea) of putting a note in the red kettle saying you will once again donate when they cut ties with “Planned Parenthood.”

The Salvation Army is another I’ve had to let go:

Salvation Army official statement on Abortion:

The Salvation Army believes in the sanctity of all human life and considers each person to be of infinite value and each life a gift from God to be cherished, nurtured and redeemed. Human life is sacred because it is made in the image of God and has an eternal destiny. (Genesis 1:27) Sacredness is not conferred, nor can it be taken away by human agreement.

The Salvation Army deplores society’s ready acceptance of abortion, which reflects insufficient concern for vulnerable persons, including the unborn. (Psalms 82:3-4)

The Salvation Army holds to the Christian ideals of chastity before marriage and fidelity within the marriage relationship and, consistent with these ideals, supports measures to prevent crisis pregnancies. It is opposed to abortion as a means of birth control, family planning, sex selection or for any reason of mere convenience to avoid the responsibility for conception. Therefore, when an unwanted pregnancy occurs, The Salvation Army advises that the situation be accepted and that the pregnancy be carried to term, and offers supportive help and assistance with planning.

I will continue to give.
