I must stop Christmas from coming but how?
The 15 cent sales tax failed, what now?
Shall I have the constitution amended?
Or convince America that by the Christmas tree they are offended.

USDA, just another useless agency that needs to be shuttered. Further, someone needs to tell the Xmas Tree Growers to do their own market research. Evidently they have lobbyists who think that the Feds need to “help” them. Both the government and the growers are a disgrace.

Oh stupid peasants . . . the tax should have been $15 per Christmas tree, not 15 cents per Christmas tree. Obama will correct this.

“Delayed”. Just waiting for the outrage to blow over and move on to some other issue.

Dudden matter to us. We bought a really nice fake tree a couple of years ago. Easy up, easy down, no messes, dropped needles. Plus I do my one good green thing for the year since I don’t practice green! ;-)

This is basically a tax on one religious group. Did Obama really ever pass the bar? I mean on his own. A guy who needs a teleprompter to say “It's raining outside” probably had to have some help all along the way. It just strains the credibility index that Obama really has any understanding of U S Law.

So he can raise our taxes without going through Congress but won’t this year?
That’s very big of him.
See - he’s a dictator, but benevolent.
And you guys were worried. :)

Historically, a tax on a product has reduced the demand for a product. For example, glass was not widely used in homes until the tax on glass was reduced in England. I will concede that proposed tree tax is minimal. However, it seems possible the compliance and paperwork that the tree industry will have to provide to comply with the new tax will exceed the revenue brought in from the tax. Next year the tax will probably increase and there will be a new regulations attached to the purchase of trees. Money from the government always has strings attached....and the government rarely gets the bad end of the deal.
