Considering that Gricar went out of his way to destroy his laptop and hard drive before disappearing, it makes you wonder if he was a pedophile himself, perhaps on the verge of getting caught?

So are we really saying that anyone who finds out about something like this and reports it to their supervisor/administration also has the “moral” responsibility to personally prosecute the case and light the fire when he burns in hell?

March 1, 2002: A Penn State graduate assistant enters the locker room at the Lasch Football Building. In the showers, he sees a naked boy, known as Victim 2, whose age he estimates to be 10 years old, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant tells his father immediately.

March 2, 2002: In the morning, the graduate assistant calls Coach Joe Paterno and goes to Paterno’s home, where he reports what he has seen.

March 3, 2002: Paterno calls Tim Curley, Penn State Athletic Director to his home the next day and reports a version of what the grad assistant had said.

//////

The end. Jo Pa did his duty?

Nope, Joe-Pa did not beat the guy to death. he continued to shake his hand and ignored or let him run kiddie football camps at Penn State branch campuses for another 8 years.

Sorry, Jo-Pa has failed by what he has not done.

To personally see that children are protected when it is obvious the system has done nothing?

yes

We must hold mandated reporters like teachers ministers and STAR FOOTBALL COACHES - to this standard.

If there is one picture of Jo-Pa shaking this predator's hand or being at a banquet or bowl game with this predator and any of his victims, or having any association with “Second Mile” then JoPa is more than guilty of omission.

If JoPa wouldnt let his own grandson take a shower with Jerry Sandusky, then he should have dam sure made sure no one elses grandchild or child did so either. What were the more important things he did with his time after this dropped in 2002?

Unfortunately, you are exactly right. And there is no reasonable way to refute it. Anyone attempting an alternate conclusion, has blinders on.

The end. Jo Pa did his duty?

yes he did, not saying he couldn’t/shouldn’t have done more, but it was not his place to do so .. the beauracrats running the college are the ones who should have fired and pressed charges

I believe that college sports especially football & basketball are dirtier than the mafia. The TV revenue has corrupted the whole thing.

The last paragraph of the article at this link.....

Mike McQueary: Well liked, known as a leader

....has a timeline of its own, on Mike McQueary's career at PSU. If accurate, the timing of his advancement is very interesting.

I am not sure about Paterno’s guilt, but I have no idea how Paterno treated Sandusky after this incident. Paterno informed both the Athletic Director and the Executive VP in charge of the University Police after he learned of this event.

“Second Mile” was recruiting chilren based on its ties to Penn State football. Holding camps on Penn State property. For almost SEVEN YEARS after Head Coach Joe Paterno was told about a witnessed rape of a child by his colleague.

Sorry.
“It’s not my job” does not fly here.
ANY Mom or Dad knows in his heart he would not have let this go and shrugged it off saying “I told the University bosses, they took away his locker room keys, what else can I do”

And I went to Penn State, was a Jo-Pa fan, never missed a game at Beaver Stadium for 4 years. Team never even lost a game until my Jr year. And during this whole time little boys were being sodomized in the football locker rooms.

And I just remembered this, from 2008.....

Obama considering ex-UNL chancellor for secretary of education, reports say

So why didn't Obama go for Spanier.......?

"Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly said Monday the university's failure to report the alleged incidents to police or child-protection officials likely led to further victimization of young boys for several years. Paterno's legal requirement was that he notify his superior, but on Monday Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan suggested there was a "moral responsibility" for the coach to make sure police were contacted."

Here's the timeline that counts:

From my above link....

A "liberal in a conservative state," Spanier was once publicly challenged for his stance on gays' rights to participate in ROTC, Griesen said, adding Spanier "served UNL well."

I’m not sure what wealth has to do with anything. However, you’re right on with your observation.

If I had seen this I would have immediately called campus security and then physically intervened. I don’t care how big Sandusky may have been I would have attempted to kill the b******* myself. Assuming I survived the encounter with Sandusky, I would have made damn sure the University reported the incident to the police. At the same time I would have reported it to the police.

This is what I think a normal and responsible adult would do. But the first reaction by the witness was to think “gotta protect the program” so he simply reported the incident up the chain. Didn’t care a fig for the kid being molested.

And then we have the once venerable Paterno apparently uninterested that Sandusky continued to have access to Penn State facilities for his troubled boys foundation.

Frankly, every Penn State employee who had the knowledge and opportunity to report Sandusky to the police should be criminally charged—up to and including President Spanier.

I’m a disillusioned Penn State alum—been so for years for a number of reasons. Principle one is the University’s hard left turn. The behavior of Penn State employees with regard to Sandusky is consistent with hard left behavior. It’s also consistent with institutions who come to believe the institution is more important than morality.

Sad, so very sad.

... had Joe have known about in that way, he would have beat the guy to death himself

He had his opportunity and he failed miserably. Your defending of this queer predator enabler across these threads is sickening.

I'm no OSU fan, but what Hayes did does not approach allowing and abetting serial child rape as Paterno, his staff and the rest of the people who knew at that sorry State U in PA did.

What Hayes did was crazy but spur of the moment, but this involved collusion and calculation.

Get rid of Joe NOW if you want to begin saving any part of yourself, Penn State. I don't want to see that sanctimonious creep on my television screen anymore.

I am starting to believe what has been going on at PSU is going to be ugly when all is found out, and it’s not just Sandusky. The missing DA story in particular, is quite troubling.
