Sure there is, and in many cases the union is setting on both sides of the bargaining table.
Take school teacher contracts for example. Most school administrators are former teachers that are covered by the same contracts that are being voted on. The school boards in most states are made up of nothing but teachers, former teachers, and wives/husbands of teachers.
School board elections are in most cases held in off years or in spring when there is nothing else on the ballot.
The deck is stacked so hard against the taxpayers that teachers unions can get anything they want.
The reason for the trouble in the first place was Kasich didn't want to lay people off. The union said NO CUTS, even if it means lay offs. Kasich should start the line up for lay offs today to make his point. They voted for them.
