I can understand your comments. I just believe that Cain should at this point rise above, and just be quiet until they know the accusations.

It is obvious that the Left are in an all-out campaign to destroy the candidacy of Herman Cain - before it becomes unstoppable. They did this with Palin and many other conservatives. This is their m.o. Ever since Reagan, the Leftist media have sworn to never again underestimate an up-and-coming conservative and have vowed to destroy every one of them going forward. If they could go back in time to 1979, they'd find a way to destroy Ronald Reagan too.

The "rise above the fray" method you prescribe for Cain has been proven not to work. Just look at the presidency of George W. Bush. He was a man who turned the other cheek when the rabid leftists were on the attack and look where that got him.

It is time for the conservatives to start fighting back - viciously.

‘I just believe that Cain should at this point rise above, and just be quiet until they know the accusations.’

We’ve tried that strategy for years. Bush tried it for eight years, in fact. It’s an unmitigated disaster. The only strategy that works is to take it to these smear mongers, fearlessly yet with good humor. Cain scores a perfect 10 on both.
