I’m not sure I understand why a diverse visitor population is important. Shouldn’t the visitor base be dependent solely on those who enjoy the particular amenities provided by the park? Yosemite and Yellowstone are great places to visit. Death Valley, not so much. I wonder how much taxpayer money will be wasted trying to entice or subsidize minority groups in order to diversify the visitors. Some things just need to be left alone.

Concur. This is equivalent to trying to raise the diversity index of meat markets by appealing to vegetarians.

They want you to trade-in your Yosemite trip for two weeks in Detroit to help promote diversity. ........are there any Occupiers there? You would think that a city of over 700,000 and the rank conditions there would be able to generate a good size gathering. Hell Oakland has less than 400,000 people, oh, that’s right they are employed somewhere as opposed to those in Detroit.
