See how far we have come in the last 15 years.

The Defense of Marriage Act passed in the Senate by 85 to 14 in 1996. It got well over 300 votes in the 435 member House of Reps. that year.

Good liberals such as Tom Harkin, Joe Lieberman, and Chuck Schumer voted for the Defense of Marriage Act.

Here we are, 15 years later, and this law is now hated by the liberals. And the culture has shifted somewhat in accepting homosexual marriage. Homosexual marriage has been forced on a few states by court order, and passed by state legislatures in a few others.

15 years ago, the definition of marriage was not at all controversial. Who would have predicted then that how we define marriage would become a hot culture war issue? Who would have predicted that news stories about marriage would all describe it as “controversial” or “bigoted” if you prefer to define marriage as a man and a woman????

The least controversial issue of 1996, how we define marriage, is now a liberal cause celebre. And now that the liberals have their beach head in a few states, lawsuits to force homosexual marriage on all 50 states, or to force the federal government to recognize same from those states which allow it, will be in court for many years.

Good synopsis on our decent into moral anarchy. Keep in mind that the liberals' attack on marriage is just one prong of a wider attack on our entire culture - our Judeo/Christian culture. And it is an attack with many fronts, not just the courts and legislatures. The cultural attack has been ongoing for decades with the push to legitimize and desensitize aversion to homosexuality through entertainment media. I remember innocently inadvertently seeing Victor/Victoria as a young teen (I thought James Garner was cool) and thinking that the worldview depicted in the film was so outrageous and beyond the realm of reality that I could afford to never give it much legitimacy in its threatened implications. I now see it as the blatant propaganda piece that it was and is.

The churches are another major spearhead for the sodomites. Infiltrating, infecting and completely overturning the entire belief systems of, first, the most liberal, apostate Christian sects, and then attempting the same with the more fundamentalist groups. It would never have entered my mind as remotely possible that a Southern Baptist Church would fall for this strong delusion, but at least two have, to the extent that they were disfellowshipped.
