I hope so, but this is West Virginia, after all...would be a great coup...

You people in W.VA. what’s your take on this election?
I was curious what a "Mnt" was. It is the WV Green party. Looks like Bobby Henry Baber is a Commie Pinko.
Hard to believe.
Supposedly the Republican Governors Assoc. pumped $2 million into this race. If I were them, I’d demand an accounting from the WV GOP....it is a place where money vanishes.
Mnt?
Hey does anyone know what the Mnt party abbreviation is for the third candidate, Bob?
The dem dominance of this state must be related to the larger cities. When I visit the Berkley Springs, Cacapon, and other small mid state more southern towns, I see salt of the earth hard working folks. WV so very beautiful. Could it be that a few bridges and welfare checks are worth selling one’s soul to the devil?
MORE STATS AT A GLANCE:
*More than half of the nation’s electricity is generated from coal.
*In West Virginia 99% of the generated electricity comes from coal.
*There are currently 14 coal fired electric generating facilities located in West Virginia.
*Coal provides the majority of electric power in 32 states.
AP calls it for Tomblin. Too bad.
If the Dem wins this reported as a huge show of support for Obama.
If the Dem loses, this is no big deal, not worth reporting
nothing personal but there are apparently a slim majority of sorry assed white folks in West Virginia
no wonder ya’ll left Ol Virginny
in Mississippi whites vote almost 90% GOP and unlike you guys we actually endured Union armies and Yankee and Carpetbagger occupation which contrary to NeoYankees propaganda today was not much fun
You good West Virginians need to kick some ass...unbelievablke
is there something in the water north of the Ohio?
Victory was never possible; there are just things out of reach politically, and this was one. Winning this was as tough as taking a House race in Chicago.
Close but no cigar for Maloney. I hope that in 2012 he tries again for the governorship, or else runs for the Senate against Manchin.
Taking in the PPP poll yesterday (yes, I know they’re Dem, but they were spot on in both the Brown-Coakley race and the NY-9 race), Maloney was down by 1, which meant to me that he would lose by about 6,000 votes. While it is sobering to us, it is only cold comfort to the Dems. Remember that in April, the Dem was 33 points ahead of Maloney. To close that big a gap in less than 6 months in a traditionally blue state is a big achievement for Maloney and a red light for the Dems.
They are still very much in trouble with the electorate and if Maloney keeps the momentum up, he’ll cinch the governorship in 2012.
A Dem may have won, but saying his win indicates WVians approval of Obama is pure propaganda.
Truly we are the stupid party. To lose this election with the VERY visable and usable facts that the Dems want to destroy the coal industry means that our side had to have run a very poor campaign. Or, perhaps the union threatened workers if they voted against the Dems. Which is it?
