In a column for the Daily Caller, Tancredo, who ran twice for his party's presidential nomination in an effort to inject the illegal immigration issue into the larger debate, is slamming Perry for his soft policies on illegal immigration in Texas -- and what Tancredo calls his "Muslim blind spot."
"What is not yet as widely known about Perry is that he extends his taxpayer-funded compassion not only to illegal aliens but also to Muslim groups seeking to whitewash the violent history of that religion," Tancredo writes.
"Perry endorsed and facilitated the adoption in Texas public schools of a pro-Muslim curriculum unit developed by Muslim clerics in Pakistan."
Tancredo cites a study by The Center for Immigration Studies, which shows that 81% of the 279,000 jobs created in Texas in the past four years went to non-citizens, a high number of them illegal aliens, to discredit Perry's central presidential argument -- that he's overseen a 'Texas miracle' of job growth while the national economy continues to decline.
And in 2008, as Tancredo points out, Perry helped expand the Muslim Histories and Culture Project, a teacher-training program spearheaded by Texas Ismailis that introduces Islamic history and culture curricula into Texas schools.

That’s why it’s our job to point out the charade. Thanks for the work.
We'll see.
“I guess that first amendment thingy doesnt mean anything to you then right?”
I’m on record here as saying that I believe the First Amendment should be changed to specifically exempt the “followers of Muhammed” from its protections.
The First Amendment is a cornerstone of our freedoms, but it has a serious “crack” in it. If we blindly view it as absolute, those who hate us will use that very amendment to eventually amass enough power to destroy us from within, using our own tools. As the saying goes, the Constitution is not a suicide pact. If we give those “followers of Muhammed” the same freedoms and powers as we have on our soil, we are digging our own graves.
My opinion, and mine only.
I realize that yours may be different.
Just sayin’....
My understanding is that Juan McShame is Open borders
An entitlement baby ( son and grandson of Admirals)
He was an embarrassment to them in Annapolis and later in his career
Was seen by many in the military as a traitor
so much so that Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale
was given the MOH to keep him quiet about McShame's
activity in the Hanoi Hilton. He received the Medal of Honor in 1976. Stockdale filed charges against two other officers who, he felt, had given aid and comfort to the enemy. However, the Navy Department under the leadership of then-Secretary of the Navy John Warner took no action and retired these men "in the best interests of the Navy."from wikiVery soon McShame was retired.
Divorced his wife because she had no money
and was no longer a trophy. He has collaborated with the Socialists in
the Senate at every turn.
OBTW I hold no brief for Myth Romney
who appears to be a used car salesman
“Romney fans dont seem to like Perry much.”
Cain fans don’t much either. How about we get a real conservative in there like Cain?
I talk to a lot of conservative activists in Texas that can’t stand Perry. There must be a reason. They say he’s as fake as a 3 dollar bill. This article just adds to that mantra.
“Is it a freakish coincidence?”
Nope. Your facts are just wrong. Not that it’s any of your business but for now I’m supporting Herman Cain.
Neither Perry or Romney will make it. You can take that to the bank.
Romney remains a big government, pro-abort, pro-gun control, pro-amnesty, pro-socialized medicine.... etc etc etc...
Ping!
That happened in Arizona, not Texas. It appears that the Feds are the ones who released them, pending a hearing on whether he qualifies for asylum.
This is why I support Rick Perry. He would change the rules and regulations that the Department of Homeland Security work under, and appoint an Attorney General who would enforce federal law. Perry is the only one of the candidates who has real life experience with the Feds and the border for 10 years, and has worked to tighten actual border security and struggled against the idiots in Washington over and over.
Yeah whatever.
Aiding, abbetting and subsidizing foreign invasion is not a states right’s issue. These ersatz Texas nationalists are insane. They are undoing 1822-1836.
No you missed the point,
you were slamming Cain for
what he did in 2008.Today we can nominate Herman Cain.
Oh please, anyone who has ever driven through Texas knows that there is no way a fence would work there. Perry has said a fense should be erected near areas of population but it makes no sense in the wide open spaces of the 1200 mile border (most of which is river). Perry has spent $400 million STATE tax dollars on patrolling the borders, the state can't just send the guard without federal consent (believe me, we know because Arizona tried) all we ended up with was a couple hundred who did not have weapons and were sitting ducks). You would think he would know better since he served in the senate, or does he know better but is banking on the ignorance of the people who follow him to not know the laws of the country well enough.
What’s better a candidate who governed to the right of liberal Massachusetts, or a candidate who piss on conservatives for 5 years and gets elected on the self-imposed ignorance of Arizonans in the 6th year?
Don’t lie. I never slammed Herman Cain.
Cain did give a huge endorsement to Romney for potus in 2008. That is a fact. Talked up Romney pretty good to.
My concern is, when its all said and done, that Cain will endorse Romney in 2012.
Romney/Cain 2012? Not for me.
How revealing.
I think you’ve been drinking the kool aid. Tancredo endorsed Romney in 2008.
I already gave my opinion. McCain was tolerated on this forum in 2008. Nod to Palin.
In case you didn’t know. Romney is persona non grata about Free Republic.
If you like Romney so much, start a few threads and see how far you get.
Just curious, what are you going to do if Romney wins the nomination and Perry then endorses him?
