Pop quiz: Name one accessory that grandmothers, moms, girls, wealthy socialites, middle-class females and low-income women might be likely to own and cherish all across America.
If you answered a gun, youd be correct.
Based on polling research and gun-sale statistics, an estimated 15 million to 20 million women in the United States own their own firearms. Dozens of those heat-packing women are documented in Chicks with Guns, a new book by photographer Lindsay McCrum that is sure to challenge almost anyones assumptions about gun ownership.
Their numbers are really high but their profile is actually really low, said McCrum, who spent three and a half years capturing artistic and arresting portraits of women with their weapons of choice.
I was so surprised by the variety and breadth and diversity of these women, McCrum said. There are so many stereotypes about guns, mostly derived from popular culture, but the reality is so much more complex and varied than you can imagine.

Well Emmis does own both stations. I guess we need to contact WIBC and demand the full two hours. Cause streaming can suck, especially if your driving through the country and cell service drops off or switches to slo-tech.
Now, here is a Girl with a real gun. She is an AC-130 Gunner.
Vanessa Dobos is a gunner on a USAF AC-130 Gunship. She has seen action in Iraq and Afghanistan. She likes long walks on the beach, men who are not afraid to cry and puppies.
Her dislikes include feed tray stoppages, tracer flareout of her NVGs and premature fixed-wing strikes scattering her high-value targets.
How many men own guns?
P.S. Owning a gun does NOT equal "packing heat." The LSM strikes again.
BTW, the mods removed my post!
“Again, the media is clueless.”
As usual.
But, to claim that merely owning a gun equates to “packing heat” is ridiculous. Not every gun is carried around in a purse or a pocket. Some actually are housed in a long case and are used to harvest wild game or crush clay targets.
;-)
.
I learned two main lessons while working on this book, said McCrum, who divides her time between New York City and California when she isnt traveling for work. One is that on the subject of guns, nobody is neutral. And the other is that when you get outside of the blue-state cities, everybody has a gun.
Send Chris Christie and Romney this article.
They might LEARN something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“when you get outside of the blue-state cities, everybody has a gun.
lol Just go back into your blue city darlin’ and have another cocktail.
Christie and Romney?
Your contribution would be welcomed here.
My response to that is when only the military and police have guns, then it is a police state.
Pics?
It’s like talking to a wall. There are certain subjects which we have mutually agreed upon to avoid.
