This is What the National Council of Churches Wants YOU to Hear on Sunday, 9/11/11 - VANITY
National Council of Churches | 9/7/11 | Piperpilot

Posted on 09/07/2011 4:50:31 AM PDT by piperpilot

I am scheduled to be a reader at my church this Sunday on the Tenth anniversary of 9/11. Yesterday, the minister sent me the special 9/11 reading that was prepared by the National Council of Churches for parishioners to hear. While most of it was fine, there are some prayers that are appalling to any right-thinking Christian and deserve to be publicized for their stunning example of moral relativism and anti-Biblical message.

"We stand together in penitence, recognizing that we have not done enough to address the sources of anger, hate, dehumanization, rage and indignation that lead to acts of violence."

"In our sadness, horror and shock we acknowledge that our own fears turned murderous and we have sough revenge, sometimes even against the innocent."

"We confess and regret our own anger and recognize its dangers to our spirits, our health, our community and others."

"In striving for national security and domestic peace we run the risk of confusing might for right and participating in the very behaviors we condemn."

"Guard and guide our country that in our search for security we may not trample the rights of the innocent nor disregard the rule of law. Repentence means to turn away from wrong deeds. Repentence means choosing instead deeds which require moral restraint, and are more beneficial to all persons who suffer."

"We place fresh confidence in international organizations and conversations that bring the diverse gifts of the world to the problems of poverty, injustice, terror and strife."

"We dare to hope for an era yet to come in which the violence, greed, the ambitions of power, and cultural, racial and religious bigotries are but memories of a dim and unenlightened past."

"We pray in the strong name of the Prince of Peace."

If this is how they feel, you should leave the church altogether, not just on the day of this reading.

As others have posted, the NCC seems to have MANY leftist, non-Biblical views. There are tons of non-denominational churches that would love to have you as a member and would preach Biblical doctrine instead.

Whoever is the globalist/US govt Goebbels has reached into the NCC

what an evil “prayer”

May God open the eyes of our ministers and help them to resist being used to propagandize their flocks

Same kind of crap is why I left the Episcopal Church ... all a bunch of lefties that have forgotten Christ finally got angry with some folks and overturned the tables of the taxpayers. You keep offering the other cheek, the terrorists will hit you again. I don’t think God meant for us to “pray” on the way to the gas chambers.

What is the denomination of your church? 11 years ago I left the Presbyterian Church USA because they are pro-choice, and even give their pastors and families abortion coverage in the medical plan. They are members of the National Council of Churches. The NCC has been taken over by liberal democrats.

This is an Episcopal Church. I think I have finally had enough. It won’t get back to Biblical truth.

What’s a guy to do when the pastor urges the flock to pray for obama?

I can’t do it.

The National Council of Churches advocates "Liberation Theology". Same as Obama 'spiritual adviser" of 20+ years, Jeremiah Wright.

Me too. Between listening to the female clergy refer to God as ‘she’, the ridiculous Millenium Goals and all the other rubbish, I called it a day and stopped going.

"Beyond appalling." is so correct!!

Which is why I belong to the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). The PCA separated from the Presbyterian Church in the United States (Southern) in part to disassociate itself from the National Council of Churches.

I will be having a frank discussion with the minister of my church today, and I will NOT be reading this to the parish.

Good for you! Let us know what the response is, if you can. (JMO, looks like it is time to find a new church.)

From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
Profile: Institute For Policy Studies (IPS)

IPS’s [Institute For Policy Studies] Washington, DC headquarters quickly became a resource center for national reporters and a place for KGB agents from the nearby Soviet embassy to convene and strategize. Cora Weiss headed one of the IPS's most successful forays -- into Riverside Church in Manhattan. She was invited there in 1978 by the Reverend William Sloane Coffin to run the church's Disarmament Program, which sought to consolidate Soviet nuclear superiority in Europe -- in the name of "peace." In 1982 Weiss helped organize the largest pro-disarmament demonstration ever held. Staged in New York City, the rally was attended by a coalition of communist organizations.

During her decade-long tenure at Riverside, which became home to the National Council of Churches, Weiss regularly received Russian KGB agents, Sandinista friends, and Cuban intelligence agents. Weiss became infamous for her role in the psychological warfare conducted against U.S. prisoners of war held in the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" during the Vietnam War.

The Liberation News Service, which is a news source for hundreds of "alternative" publications nationwide (with antiwar, Marxist-oriented perspectives), was founded in 1967 with IPS assistance."

I actually learned on Free Republic back in 2000 that the Presbyterian Church USA gives abortion medical coverage to their pastors. I was totally SHOCKED.

I confronted my pastor about it, and he admitted it. I told him I could not have my donations paying for abortions and left the church. I had gone to that denomination my entire life.

The pastor never stood up in front of the congregation on Sunday mornings and said that donations are paying for abortions. At that time it was all hidden unless you looked online.

Then I tried to find a pro-life Protestant church and discovered that all the main-line denominations are pro-choice.

Someone told me about a pro-life church which is about 15 minutes away from us, and we started attending. About a year later, we became members. We’re happy there because it’s totally conservative.

Let’s try that again.

And many of the individual congregations of the former Congregational Church, now called the United Church of Christ. I believe the merger happened around 1959-60.

The NCC is the body that pushed the return of Elian Gonzalez to Communist Cuba. Their former Nat. leader handled the negotiations.
