There are a bunch of students in DC, at GW and Georgetown who are pretty close in the area.

And I don’t doubt many there support the troops.

But not 2 years ago, many of them “voted out” President Bush due to their disappointment that he started this “illegal war,” lied to the American people about WMD, etc,. Their support of the military and the war has been abysmal — many of them, if not 50% of them, would have been happy to have us pull out and completely cut and run.

They wanted no part of further military action — but how did they figure we’d ever capture BL without further military action?

There seems to be a disconnect here.

Well, the DC group came from one school it sounds like.

The initial crowds in New York ALL had a “now we can pull out the troops” message, and they probably served to draw in the random insomniacs, and 9/11 families. One 9/11 widow happened to have a photo of her husband with her, and mentioned getting a babysitter, at 12:15.
