Is Donald Trump the new Ronald Reagan? Trump would like you to think so
YahooNews (The Daily Caller) ^ | 4/26/2011 | Chris Moody

The team helping to fuel Donald Trump’s run for president is working to brand the real estate mogul as the new Ronald Reagan, a notion Reagan’s closest aides call “preposterous.”

Draft Trump 2012, an independent committee that supports his potential bid for president, is hosting a speech in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday to “Bring Back the Reagan Revolution,” which they say will occur if Donald Trump is elected president. The group blasted out an ad for the event Monday, complete with shots of Reagan and Trump side by side with the tag-line, “From Ronald to Donald.”

Granted, it’s a Republican right of passage for a candidate to prove their worthiness of the Gipper’s legacy. But Trump?

Vermont Vet is just asking you to think strategically and hold your fire until Obama is suitably weakened.

It is how battles are won...we can’t give full rein to every impulsive (abeit probably correct) reaction.

We need to look at Trump as our Soldier of Fortune for a very specific mission.

You can question the intricacies of his loyalties—and you should—after he has achieved some traction in exposing Obama.

Like any mercenary, he may well not be suited to the subtlties of governing and may well not have an unacceptable sliding scale on positions—he will have to withstand the rigors of that test-—BUT let’s support him NOW in this narrow quest to defrock the fraud!

But Trump has already been labeled a joke.

Democrats and elitist Republicans are telling us that Trump is a joke.

Democrats mocked Sarah Palin and got away with it. That's how they take down people.

I agree with the basics of your post#7, that we should let Trump take the eligibility fight to Obama and, for now just see how that goes.

It doesn’t hurt to keep this in mind, however: Not only is Trump no Reagan, Trump is no conservative.

Trump would not have made a decent pimple on Reagans ass!

The obama-loving media and Sat Night Live will take down Trump. I know a lot of people who like obama and will vote for him again.

Which is why we need to keep our wits about us and unify in support of Trump—for now—in exposing Obama.

Later we will hold Trump’s feet to the conservative fire.

But PLEASE, let’s play it smart—crazy like a fox— and support our ‘Soldier of Fortune’ Donald Trump in going after our greatest nemesis, the fraud Obama.

Mercenaries have been behind some of the most pivotal events in wartime history..little published, but much understood on the QT.

If we insist on “purifying” Trump at this stage, we risk his highly effective shooting from the hip with killer precision.

Do we really want to castrate and convert Trump into another blathering ‘try to please everyone’ politico, scared of the consequences of his words?

Trump may well be our mercenary.

Does not mean he will be our President.

Kep your eye on the ball—exposing Obama.

I don’t think Reagan would donate 50 G’s to Rahm like Trump did.

Watch out on YAHOO. They are a bunch of liberal bigots and will do whatever they can to diminish Trump and smear Reagan's memory too.

Trump is at least Pro-America and if he runs it will be because he sees our Republic deeply in trouble by the actions of our Marxist pretender to the presidency.

Trump is a joke and he keeps proving it every day. I say keep it up and we'll be rid of him soon.

And Yahoo is one of their bigoted propaganda outlets.

Aeems to me, that all this political prty—both of them—dumping on Trump as not a real this or that acts in his favor both now and in the long run.

After all, it is the American way—remember that?

His appeal in the main, I think, is that he’s not a generic scumbag politician to begin with (all of them)and Joe American can identify with him being fed up to here with not only the symbolic prince of fools we’re stuck with, but the millions of fools who voted him there (partially) and the other behind-the-scenes pvnks/traitors who are ever with us.

Besides, who are theseself-proclaimed “experts” who impose their judgments on the rest of us—never mind, you already know...

So you want to be “rid” of Trump before he exposes Obama? Interesting.

Hell, if the general election is between Myth and Boso, I’d vote for Myth. Paul and Obama, Paul gets my vote. Huck and Obama, Huck. Rudy and Obama, Rudy.

It’s a sad, sad day for me. Anyone but Obama! A.N.Y.O.N.E.

(Eh-nee-wun!)

Trump is a joke and he keeps proving it every day.

There is no need for you to worry. The media will degrade him and every other Republican.

Regardless of what the polls say now, Obama has an excellent chance of winning.

I got into it with a life-long friend about obamacare, and we barely speak now. This person is a professional and has friends that think the same way.

Low income people I talk to also love obama and his obamacare.

We do not have a legitimate President.

What we have is a usurper who has been placed in office and kept there by people so frightened of his race that they are afraid to admit the truth.

There was an internet statement going around that explained that the United States did not have to fear Obama so much, that we could survive his term of office. What we have to fear is the populace that placed him in office, approves of him and his policies, and may put him there again.

I admire Trump for using his wealth, position and access to check on Obama. That said, I doubt that I would vote for him for POTUS.
