Like most Freepers, I like polls that show 'my' candidate ahead or polling well and I tend to dismiss polls that go the other way. In this case, realizing the power of the leftmedia to influence people who don't follow politics, I can believe that Sarah Palin probably doesn't poll well due to over two years of non-stop trashing of the woman in the media. That has to take a toll. I also think Palin could overcome it if she decided to run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Ronald Reagan did it in 1980 and so did George W. Bush in 2004, albeit in Bushs' case, with the benefit of being president and having a Democrat opponent that came off as a reincarnation of Thurston B. Howell, III. Heck, even Harry Truman had dismal poll numbers prior to his fought-for nomination by his party and was widely predicted to lose to Dewey in the 1948 presidential election, especially with a third party candidate (Strom Thurmond) in the running. We all know how that worked out.

However, I still question the accuracy of this and other polls that consistently show Sarah Palin as widely unpopular. She's sold millions of books and an appearance by Palin sells out in minutes, yet, according to the polls, she's unpopular. Something is wrong here. I tend to find these negative polls suspect and not truly representative of American's opinion of Sarah Palin who has done nothing to justify the kind of low numbers she receives in these polls but who has been demonized, vilified and mocked by the left and it's media water carriers for over 2½ years. I still contend that, despite the media's attempts to marginalize her, Sarah Palin's common sense, conservative proposals and notable charisma can win over voters disgusted and disappointed with Obama and the Democrats and ready to accept a woman president and her plans to restore our nation to it's former greatness that Obama and the Democrats never much liked and have tried to destroy for the past 5 years. That stated, I hope she decides to run.

Palin's negatives are real.

She will never will a national election because of jealous women and blacks. They hate her.

I thought 60% of the people saw her unfavorable? 53% unfav isn’t bad for taking 3 years of non stop attacks from the RNC,DNC and MSM.

Who cares, run on principle. We’ve all got poll disease. The media is laughing their asses off because they know they can make stuff up with these polls and people believe it.

Run Sarah Run.

The truth (or at least an educated guess) - from a professional in the field.

1. Her negatives among likely voters are also high but not nearly as high as in this poll of adults.

2. Her negatives among SNL viewers are extremely “soft” numbers, meaning that she can shift those numbers a lot simply by campaigning, if she presents herself much better than in the Couric interview. The ones who can’t be convinced by Sarah can’t be convinced by DeMint, Bachmann, or any other real American, so we shouldn’t care that they don’t like her.

3. She’s holding back until closer to the election so that she’ll be a fresh face as a candidate instead of “old news”.

4. I’m (unfortunately) not convinced that she is actually running. I think she would rather see another conservative take the job so she doesn’t have to, but she’ll jump in if her country needs her. [Note to Sarah: Yes, we do need you. Jump in when the time is right, or your children won’t have a recognizable country.]

They can say what they want, she's still going to be the new President at midnight on November 6, 2012.

The WSJ/NBC poll is garbage!! I have been saying this for a couple of years, I mentioned it a couple times just this past 2 weeks. It`right here on record in my posts.

Chuck Todd has a part in the polling, the wording of the questions etc, it`s pure garbage, just like all the other MSM media polls, including Fox.

The Science of polling is dead in 2011, it`s been dead for a number of years.

I just pray that Sarah Palin has people around her that can encourage her, and tell her this is all fabricated garbage.
