Should have been an excerpt.
Classic case of undermining what could have been legitimate criticism with over-the-top language. He could have just pointed out that bankrupting the state with social spending that goes into bureacrats’ pockets is not “protecting the poor and vulnerable” but rather, is robbing our kids of their standard of living for current consumption.
Facebook again.
Will they never learn?
Sorry, but you can't claim to be for the "vulnerable" when you basically act as a paedophilia enabler.
This "bishop" is a dirty hypocrite, and the Rep. was right to call him out on it.
Ping.
DJ offered a letter of “apology” to the bishop last night. He pretty much stuck to his guns. I and many others had advised him to stick to his guns. Rep. Vaillancourt was interviewed on Channel 9 and he said a better word would have been “pedophile enabler”. That is a more accurate description.
Probably take some of the heat off DJ.
Rep. Bettencourt is 100% accurate in his statement. At a minimum the Vatican should of removed McCormark and given him a cushy post in Italy like they did with his mentor, Bernie Law.
Bettencourt spoke truth to power.
Maybe not the best statement.
But what’s up with Catholic priest and other Catholic officials chiming in on proper levels of government spending?
Good for this representative! If the Church feels the need to spend more money on social causes, then it should do what Jesus taught us to do, raise the money ourselves and help the poor directly. No one who calls for the government to do this should be allowed to hold a leadership position in any church because that person is obviously completely misinformed when it comes to the teachings of Christ.
If “Society” has an obligation to the poor, such assistance should come from private sources, not the public treasury.
Seems to me he has the catholic germs number. LOL
