In a letter released Thursday, Sen. Scott Brown called Republican efforts to cut government spending irresponsible and urged party leaders to get over their ideology and find an agreement on a final resolution to the government through the fiscal year.
((snip))
Echoing Democratic rhetoric on spending, Brown warned that the Republican-proposed $61 billion budget reduction would occur at the expense of the poor and hurt the economy.

Instead of having the courage of one's convictions, they are willing to settle for the "lesser of two evils" and to make excuses for anyone with an "R" next to their name. That makes these people part of the problem rather than part of the solution. The average voter looks at these "moderates" and they see two of the same. They're better off voting for the dem that at least knows how to manipulate the system.
Believe it or not these people are actually considering that he may be a "good choice" to run for pres. They are all over Romney, trying to put the blame for Romneycare on the dems.
This is happening all over the nation, look at Boehner, McCain, Grahahm, Snowe etal.
Not everyone was tickled pink, nor got a thrill up our leg the night Scott Brown was elected. I was pleased to see Taxachusetts voters send a message to their effete Democrat masters of a pending slave revolt, and the vote to shave their super-majority in the Senate.
We knew Conservatives would, in time, sour on his standard-issue, default liberal ideas and regret their enthusiasm.
It was a flash-point rejection of Obamacare and the miserable drawn out process of its being railroaded into bad policy. But in the end, we knew he was another Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe, and would inevitably demonstrate it, and he has.
He’s exactly what I thought he would be. I donated to him before and will again.
Why? I’m no RINO, that’s for sure. Do I like all of his positions on issues? Hell, no!
But here’s the deal. Those who want him to switch to the Democrat party and be done with it are just politically stupid. I knew we weren’t getting Ronald Reagan in this guy; he is just conservative enough to be tolerable in bright, neon-blue Massachusetts. I recently read that he has a 73% approval rate. The Dems are scrambling to find someone, anyone to run against him with any chance to beat him at all. I don’t mind a liberal Rep in a place like Massachusetts....I MIND a liberal Republican in a place like bright red Indiana. Yes, I am talking to you, Mr. Lugar.
I’m here in Utah. No matter how much the libs holler about electing a liberal from here, it ain’t gonna happen. Period. Yes, we have libs. The best they can do is Matheson who has a D beside his name but only voted for the stimulus. No cap & trade, no Obamacare, etc. And he barely survived the 2010 election. Scott Brown is in the exact same position, in his state.
Chill out. Scott Brown is the least of our worries. We have bigger fish to fry, namely to uproot (like weeds) the RINOS in red states.
That is what we need to worry about.
Even the Republican RINOs in Massachusetts Are Insane..
Two words come to mind: RINO & PRIMARY
The irresponsible are those that backed the socialist’s campaign!!
Tea Party candidate
Allan West attacking and dissing Birthers....Marco Rubio doing the same (he was already pro-illegal and pro-Global Warming hoax)....looks like the Tea Party movement lacked real conservatives
RealCon 2012 is needed
Memo to Scott: the necessary cuts have not even begun.
Lets pummel this guy politically. Lets make every day a misery for him. Remember how we did it to clinton? every speech every funraiser, we showed up and he passed us in his limo. Scott Brown needs to be made an example of.
Brown said. Likewise, some of the proposed cuts would be economically counterproductive, negatively impacting our ability to innovate and invest in research and development.
When a Pol says 'invest in ' he means, S-P-E-N-D on.
So yeah any cuts would 'negatively impact' gubmint spending.
And series, I don't know why some are so surprised by this guy. He's from Taxachusetts for pete's sake (finally, a place worse than IL). And there, the only difference between and 'R' and a 'D' is the 'D' wants to tax & spend 'a whole lot', while the R *only* wants to tax & spend 'a lot'.
But Scott Brown has an ‘R’ after his name and he can win elections. When he criticizes conservatives it can’t be a bad thing.
Scott = air head
You are 100% correct. The “lesser evil” voting mentality has doomed this nation.
But just wait until 2012, then we’ll really take this country back!
How’s that good old ballot box working out for you, America?
He values his seat, not his principles. Which means he has none...
Say so long Scott. You are a short termer.
