Whites are abandoning Massachusetts cities at a rapid clip, continuing well-worn paths to the suburbs or out of state, according to new demographic data from the US census.
...The migration of whites out of communities has also left many public school districts in cities made up overwhelmingly of minority students. In Lawrence, just 6 percent of this years public school students are white. In Chelsea just 8 percent are, according to state Department of Education figures.
...The trend was strongest in lower-income communities plagued by violent crime and struggling schools. Yet wealthier communities like Beverly, Gloucester, Melrose, and Salem also saw declines, as did wealthy ones like Newton.

You’ll never hear me say that.
Bottom line: Typically, people are more comfortable when the’re with the same kind of people. Been that way since the dawn of man. And it’s not going to change, “best liberal intensions” or not.
Very good point.
It continues to be a challenge for cities to hold middle-class families,
Of course high taxes, reduced employment, and poor economic growth are important adverse factors that encourage people to move out of a state. But another factor is the fact MA has promoted Leftist anti-family legislation that advances the gay agenda, illegal immigration, and progressive indoctrination in the schools. Many honest, talented and productive social conservatives have, are, or will leave MA because they simply have no voice at the state or local level. As long as the MA Democrats continue to pander to illegal immigrants, welfare recipients, gay activists, and progressives, that’s all they will have left in MA.
“Detroit”
Perfectly stated and 100% accurate!
These white people need to be redistributed back into the inner-cities. It’s only fair.
I knew that you could........
Funny, my educated upper middleclass black co-workers say the same thing, and they make no appologies either.
Several years ago, I read a story about California legislators that were considering a bill that would do just that - tax people who left the state of California. They were going to call it an "exit tax".
I have no idea how far that bill made it in committee.
Birds of a feather flock together"....and what the hell is wrong with that???
By the way, Hyannis on the Cape is now referred to as Brockton By The Sea. Same Same. Section 8, welfare, High tax, high regulation, ‘social services’, shootings, stabbings, bums, high police costs yet ineffective. The town council is referred as the Town Clown-cil.
Law of the jungle, too.
And apparently they put their children in private schools.
You wouldn’t prefer that term if you knew that the Caucus people are not white and spawn terrorists that terrorize Russian civilians. Instead, use “European-American” or “Euro-American” or “Classic American”.
I'm originally for north central MA, and when I was growing up it was a “working Joe, blue collar, factory” area. When I graduated from HS, ~20 years ago, I already saw the transformation - less whites, factories closing, decay. I got the hell out and headed east, which I THANK GOD I did. But, now, the creep in starting to set in here too.
Cape Cod - I never really cared for it. Give me the North Shore any day.
Hmmm... I guess the only way to handle that situation is to have a compound in Hyannisport.
“Law of the jungle, too.”
There is ZERO wrong with that, FRiend!
Same here, I love the rural life here in Maine. I was born in Boston and raised in Cambridge and won’t even go back to visit family, that’s how much I hate Massachusetts and the urban scene.
I live in Ma. now, waiting for my wife to retire. Then I’m moving to either SW Utah or S.Carolina.
People ask me why Utah? I say because I want to live in America. They know what I mean.
