Two things.

First, the author doesnt seem to quote her, it looks more like summaries. So until someone shows a quote where she said it, I wont hold it against her.

Second, if the conservative movement devolves into identity politics and doing things for the sake of something other than protecting the Constitution, then it will not survive as a movement.

"First, the author doesnt seem to quote her"

Did you miss the "quotes" in the headline? The story itself uses quotation marks around the statement in the article itself. It self-evidently quotes her.

I can’t remember the exact words, but she was responding to a question being asked by the interviewer who refrerred to a Hillary Clinton talking about the number of women leaders elected in Latin America. I no way did I sense that Palin said we need a woman president just because she was a woman.

If a Republican is to win in 2012, they have to win the womens vote. Democrats have controlled it for decades. What she said was that “It’s time”. Men have held the office for over 200 years, so if not now, when? She can’t conceal that she’s a woman, so how is being a member of a class that comprises 51% of the American population some kind of identity politics? That’s the democrat line. She didn’t say to elect anyone just because they are a woman. She was obviously hinting about her aspirations as a qualified candidate.

In 2008 Obama garnered 96% of the black vote and many white votes from people who wanted to see the first black President. In 2012, with Palin as our candidate, we will have the same factor in play to elect the first female President. If we get even 50% of the women’s vote, we win. This is why the dems are so scared of Palin.

I will vote for the best candidate regardless of race or sex and that will be Sarah Palin but if building support among women is needed to elect her, then we need to do it.

Just go to Google and type in "It’s time a woman became president of the United States of America". You will get all the direct quotes you want with that particular quote headlining the entire article.

Here is only one of them.

FOX NATION: Sarah Palin in India 'It’s Time A Woman Became President of the United States'

She said it and the audience applauded.

It can't be any clearer than that until the video shows up on YouTube.

"On losing election-

Sarah Palin: Obama was a change agent.

Question: But so were you.

Sarah Palin: But I wasn’t on the top of the ticket.

Sarah Palin: It’s time a woman became president of the United States of America. (Applause)
