He has only been in Congress for 2 months. What spending cuts has he voted against?

This is what you said and what I responded to:
I don't see a Republican male who is up the fight

I pointed out that there IS a Republican male who IS up for the fight. Whether he is interested or not remains to be seen. There is a video out there, which I unfortunately do not have the time to find right now, where he is asked about running and all he said was that it was not something he had on his mind right now. [paraphrasing] He was then asked if he thought he could win. He responded by saying something to the effect of, I don't know, you'd have to run a poll.

Back to work for me!

THINK! (or are some of you opposed to her no matter what she says or does?)

What makes you assume any disagreement with Palin is a knee-jerk reaction?

Are individuals not allowed to have their own opinions, or are we somehow obliged to please you and follow the herd?

The statement in question is a direct quote. Making the case that we should vote for a woman, specifically Palin, simply because the time has arrived is as stupid as making Bob Dole the candidate for President because it was his turn.

I'd rather choose a President on principle.

It's time for a woman to become President of the United States?

WHY?

Hell's Bells, this is what got the country into this mess --- this idea that it was time for a black man to become President.

It's time for the RIGHT PERSON of either gender, any race, to take over from the Epic Fail that is the Obama Administration.

That is all.

I would hope that conservative support for Sarah Palin has NOTHING to do with the fact that she is a woman.

My guess is that Palin’s female gender will hurt her

It may if she expects to use it to lure a particular voting block.

She should be explaining to Americans why food prices are going up and why the cost of living is going up and what her plan is to reverse it.

She should be reminding to Americans what happened the last time oil went up like it is now and how it sparked this recession we are still in. Remind them how landlords had to abandon their tenants because they could no longer afford the oil to heat the buildings they owned, she should be reminding Americans of the signs on the banks which read "heating oil loans available".

She should be explaining to Americans how Gadaffi (as looney as he is) was a partner in the war against Al Qaeda, she should explain to the Americans how Obama's weakness could encourage North Korea to take some bold actions against its neighbors, she should be explaining to Americans that we actually have more oil than Saudi Arabia and (not just in Alaska) and that it can be safely drilled in our own nation and we can be truly independent of foreign oil, she should mention that even though she does not doubt that President Obama was born in the United States (if that is what she believes) but that his refusal to present his birth certificate sets a precedence for all other future candidates.

How will we deal and compete with China? What's her stance and plans on dealing with today's Cuba and today's Venezuela. What is Mexico doing differently than Colombia had done to clean up their country of druglords. Where did Mexico go wrong resulting in Colombia being a more desirable vacation spot than Cancun or Acapulco these days?

And she should be talking about how unfair it is to be allowing unhappy undocumented mexicans to enter the USA instead of staying in their own nation and voting against status quo in Mexico and how our allowing the anti-status quo people to come to the USA only hurts those mexicans who are still living in Mexico as we have participated in making their voting block much smaller and decreasing their power for change.

Sarah Palin should be talking about our tax code and her plan to make it simple. There's a lot to be talked about. Simply saying you are conservative is not enough for many Americans. They need to hear details on all of the issues.

Everybody already knows that Sarah Palin is a girl.

WOW. I did not realize the list was that long. Only a couple of names seem to be missing, huh?

Gotta run. Thanks for the reply.

But obviously this level of personal diplomacy escapes the kneejerk pocket-protecter dweebs around here.

It does indeed. Or maybe some of these "knee-jerks" are part of the anti-Palin GOP establishment? Their inane objections to Palin suggests they very well could be.

RINO = “racist”, in the sense that it’s now so overused that it’s a meaningless term solely intended keep the opposition on the defensive.

Actually, she said something like, “Maybe First Gentleman, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.”

Exactly, the last thing she needs to do is sound like a democrat. Democrats divide people and use language to do it. They balkanize and pit one group against another on external characteristics. Gender, sexuality, race, whether you’re a citizen or here illegally.

Saying stuff like that has as much weight as a democrat liberal woman like Hillary saying it.

She has an image to think about as well. If she is running she needs to not make slip ups, if she was really tongue-in-cheek. Personally I think it can’t be much of one, if she is running, then she does believe it’s time for a woman president. So don’t throw the perception out there that we need a female president just because a running female thinks “it’s about time”. Not much logic behind that. Conservatives using weak liberal feely statements does not cut it for me.

the ideas and integrity gets you the base. the stronger and more integrity gets you more of the base. It is the low-brow politics that gets you the squishy moderates. The group that everyone says Palin needs to win over. this sadly is how you win them over. They do not vote based on ideas or integrity. they vote on emotion on being part of history, on being on the winning side. this is the stuff that you do to get the moderates.

Oh yes. Let's elect a woman to be POTUS simply because "It's time".

"It's a time" when the top two courageous candidates, Palin and Bachmann are women. It's a time when the current men candidates are pathetic cowards. Perhaps that's what she was thinking when she said, "it's time".
