Yesterday, while talking to Good Morning America, potential presidential candidate Donald Trump waded into birther territory when he said this:
"Everybody that even gives any hint of being a birther, a word you didn't use, even a little bit of a hint like, 'Gee, you know, maybe, just maybe this much of a chance,' they label them as an idiot. Let me tell you, I'm a really smart guy. I was a really good student at the best school in the country. The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him. When you interview people... if I ever got the nomination if I ever decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten. They'll remember me. Nobody ever comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It's very strange. The whole thing is very strange."
Chris Matthews blasted Trump for saying that, accusing him of "going primate."
"Why is is he going out there and selling this malarkey?"

I would love to see a guest on Chrissy’s show ask him a few questions about Obama. How about how do you know he’s so smart? Seen his grades from anywhere? These people, and O’Reilly is one of the biggest culprits ,think they know all there is to know about O and they know NOTHING? Just like the rest of us.
Careful what you call people Chrissy
Come on Matthews. You know Trump had a point. No one remembers obama. Everyone has college buddies. Where are obama’s?
Since his candidacy is a long shot and since he's not a politician with concerns about losing political capital, he can throw stuff up against the wall to see if anything sticks.
0’BS father was a British subject, he has used more than one S.S. number, one was issued to residents of Conn. he traveled to Pakistan using what passport, does Chris have any kids or grandids he’d like to donate, without their knowledge of course. Don’t make any difference which of the 57 states he was born in, it’s treason to aid and abet this fraud.
Logical assertion - there are things we don’t know about 0bama’s history, and which are being kept hidden.
Liberal response - “he’s a primate”, an ad hominem attack which avoids addressing the assertion, and in no way refutes it.
If he can bring bammers down on this,
I’ll vote for him.
And I do hope The Donald continues to push this issue hard. It might just turn out to be the thing that changes him from being a long shot to being the front runner. It certainly makes the other candidates look pretty wimpy.
Well that is true.
but what does it have to do with the issue?
I can see it coming.
The next assignment for the groups on “Apprentice” will be to find Baraq’s birth cert.
So you’re asserting that his logic error was of “irrelevant thesis” instead of “ad hominem”.... :)
DONALD TRUMP IS NOT PLAYING THE "RACE" CARD! HE IS PLAYING THE JOKER CARD!
This "birther" issue would be put to bed if there was just one responsible journalist that would demand Zero release his records!
Primate is a few steps up the evolutionary chain for a booger eater like Chrissy. His pee soaked leg must be quivering in envy.
Why is it malarkey? There is nothing anti-intellectual about being suspicious of the circumstances that surround this president. Conversely, taking everything this administration says at face value, and not having the curiosity to wonder about all of the inconsistencies and stealth, is indeed anti-intellectual. The reality is, and has been for a long while, that the left are inherently anti-intellectual, even while they have the bulk of the academy shilling for them. They are driven by dogma, and refuse to even consider alternative opinions if they don't fit their world view. That head in the sand mentality is typical of liberals, and most definitely is not intellectual.
“but I guess I don’t like the fact he plays this card about birther. It has an ethnic aspect to it. He wouldn’t be doing this to another candidate who wasn’t named Barack Obama.”
Yes, Matthews is calling Donald Trump a racist too.
Donald are you going to take that kind of talk from Chris Matthews? Donald are you going to stand for that?
His intent was for it to be derogatory, rather than scientifically correct, so I guess “ad hominem” fits.
This should be interesting.
