Notice of a meeting held in the event of a bona
fide emergency need not be given 48 hours prior to such meeting. Notice in such a circumstance
shall, however, be given as soon as practicable, and in any event prior to the holding of such
meeting, to any news medium that has filed an annual request for notice under subsection
2.02(b). An agenda must be included in the notice for any special, rescheduled or reconvened
meeting.
“The Act requires that notice be given in two ways: (1) by posting a notice at the public
body’s principal office or, if it has no office, at the building in which the meeting will be held;
and (2) by sending a notice to each news medium that has filed an annual request for notice.
Such news media providing a local address or telephone number for notice are entitled to notice
of special, emergency, rescheduled or reconvened meetings given in the same manner as it is
given to members of the public body. 5 ILCS 120/2.02(b).”

This will get thrown out on appeal...they did it by the rules of the law.

Diana: has Scott Walker said anything about this dastardly ruling? What is going on in Wisconsin?

Walker should reinstate the layoffs of public sector workers. Then go ahead and have another vote on the bill. They have the majority, it will pass again.

So the judge has already told us how she’s going to rule.

The potential for this was discussed earlier yesterday on talk radio.

I seem to remember that either Charlie Sykes or Jeff Wagner brought up the point that if she rules against this law, it would invalidate MANY laws already on the books that were passed in the same fashion including......(Wisconsinites who pay attention will get a kick out of this one!)

(ahem)

The ONLY way to win back our state, is to re-elect Judge Prosser to the WI Supreme Court. If Kloppenberg wins (with the full backing of the unions)the Supreme Court will be 4-3 with liberals, and everything the legislature tries to do in the decade will be in vain.

Pass two new laws one the same as the judge just ruled on the other abolishing public unions and making WI a right to work state. Make sure the proper notice is given and then say Rats you have a choice.

offer school vouchers to everybody

No way. Actually this is what they should do. First of all stop all property taxes. Second make everyone pay for school. No vouchers, no property taxes for education. The parents pay the education of their children. This way a parent can send them to any school they want. If they want to drive the kid across town they can. If they want to go to a school is another district or city, no problem. This is the best way for this too work. It is a win-win for everyone. Tax payers especially. We would have to figure a way to pay for fire and emergency but that could be 200 bucks a year or something reasonable. First of all, education would automatically get serious as parents would be shelling out funds and they would take a vested interest in their kid’s education. I am so good that I can’t stand it sometimes....lol.

Asst. Atty. Gen Steven Means said: 1. the state can appeal, and 2. the legislature can simply re-enact the legislation, avoiding the procedural problem the judge found.

Means said the state expected Sumi’s decision. He said the state had a chance to substitute judges, but decided not to do so.

Hmmmm...any idea what the strategy is??

I think the Gov & GOP in WI file to BLOCK any Unions from making any contracts with public sector so they don’t ram through secret/quiet deals... this should be done right away.

I would also have the Gov start the layoffs... make sure they put the blame on the unions & Demo-discraced party!
People of WI better watch their backs as these thugs will do whatever it takes to screw the citizens...

I think Gov Scott Walker is one of the bravest politicans in our country today. Also, shame on the Rep/Sen who left the fleebagger demo off the hook with fines etc... now they will return the favor by putting that hook in their backs. What are think thinking??

Walker must repeat over and over again publicly - judges do not make the law. Elected representatives make the law.

If you live in Wisconsin and your teachers were involved in the protesting, pull your kids out of their class. If the school has been taken over, pull them out and send them to a private school or home school.

“Does ANYONE represent the taxpayer any more?”

“Samuel Colt does.”

Sounds like the advocation of insurrection to me. Oh, leave God out of this....especially as an expletive deletive.

Actually, I must admit I’m getting a sick delight watching you go ballastic over nothing.
