Fox news saying they left the plant
‘Without Gregory Peck it would have been unwatchable’
Some of the others were pretty good: Fred Astaire, Ava Gardner, Anthony Perkins.
‘There is still time, brother!
We need some schematics, end connection specifications, site plan, push boats, barges, safe work plan, relief site, rotation crews and transport. I think we could take it from there so far as feeding water is concerned.
I believe we could tarp the barges and have a washdown system to avoid radioactive particles enough to reduce exposure. I remember from my shelter training in the 1960’s that plastic sheeting was considered an expedient fallout shelter so long as you shook the tarp from time-to-time to shed the particles to the earth instead from overhead. Maybe they were just trying to give us false hope.
Seriously, I think we could tie up at the dock and feed them enough water, if that is what they need, to blow their doors off.
The question is if the systems to cool with the cleaned water and the heat exchangers are intact.
Heck, we can even mix and pump acid if that is what they need done. We pump 28% hydrochloric heated to about 150 degrees all the time.
“They’re feeding you a load of corn,”
Yup, a lot of corn and schmaltz(sp?) — CNN came back from break and zeroed in on a child’s teddy bear lying in the rubble but amazingly not a speck of mud on it. reminds me of an old movie “Ace in the Hole” Kirk Douglas — worth watching pp about the medias’ manipulation of a news story where a man is stuck in a mine shaft and the outside turns into a carnival. Worth seeing — tho’ old. Billy Wilder directed.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Would you stay in a Holiday Inn twenty miles away from the plant for 20K? How about 100K?
Thanks, too funny I needed a laugh :)
Wait, what? These engineers are the ones who will look after the public. They, if allowed to, will give their lives to ensure public safety.
Given that they have been at the plant for some time now, they need to reduce rad exposure.
Hours may pass without any reports.
From what I have seen over the past 3 days NSI is not looking for ratings.
Jetting off with Michelle and the girls to Rio for Spring Break.

lol..
I've been waiting for someone to say they should nuke it...
US President, Singlehandedly, Prevents another Meltdown.
Not necessarily.
When the breach first occurs there would be a hydrogen release that would carrry the isotopes up along with the blast. Thus saturating the air much more efficiently.
Saw it, great old movie!
Good point. Form the reports I have seen the media is not doing a lot of reporting on the towns wiped off the map or other issues. Most of it is on a still unknown situation and 3 or 4 of the approx. 30 reactors in Japan from what I have found.
I suspect either they have had their resources removed and not reinforced, or those operating the centers are not working with their engineers.
Fiddling while Rome burns... probably?
Would you rather they spend their time talking? Or working?
Oh, good someone saw it. I saw it last summer during a film class I was taking — just before the Chilean accident.
So was fairly impressed with the way Chileans handled things tho’ I’m sure PR people sent down messages to them on how to handle things.
