I’m thankful the administration is moving forward in helping Japan. It’s actually much more than I expected from ‘O’ given his track record.

On Facebook chat with my son, he says he hopes they go to improve relations. He hasn’t heard who from 3rd Med Bn may go.

Okinawa is a different beast than Japan. If an Okinawan knew that he’d just been referred to as ‘Japanese’, he’d blow his stack over the perceived insult.

As for the displeaure the Okinawans have over the US military, it’s more of the “You own over 50% of our island. Give it back already!!!”.

That, mixed in with the occasional rape of a schoolgirl by our Marines.

Now the Koreans, on the other hand...

Most Japanese and Korean used cars are exported to Russia via Vladivostok. So Ivan better look closely at all the brand new Camry’s the used car lots suddenly are filled with.

That’s the Okinawan local government doing that. The Japanese government has been looking more at relocating the US bases elsewhere on Okinawa or onto the main islands proper.

Not out of Japan, though.

That’s more typical of Korea. Or that least until NK lit off a nuke, sunk a cruiser, and shelled YP-do...
