I have been worried about destruction of antiquities in all of this. How sad.

Most Muslims have no respect for the pre-Islamic history and culture of Egypt. To them it is all trash.

It’s getting hard to tell the dummies from the mummies.

We don’t know if this is true.

Seems there are far more valuable and more easily sold items to be stolen from the museum.

I’m hoping that the workers at the Cairo Museum are busily hiding the most important antiquities. I think that is where the mask of King Tut resides (of course, it may be touring). This morning the pyramids were blocked to tourists, closed down and protected.

Sadly, I think I will never see these wonders of the world in my lifetime. Should have gone in the 70s when I had the chance.

Yes, it’s something I had always hoped to see, but during most of my adult life when I could afford to go there has been so much unrest in that part of the world, I just didn’t want to travel there.

Just what I thought, must have been a mob of looting brain surgeons. Now if they can just destroy the pyramids, no one will ever give them money to look at stuff again!

Sad, very sad. I’ve had the chance to visit the museum several times while being deployed in support of Exercise Bright Star. Many beautiful items in there.

Tip to the looters- Burn yourself! It’ll have more of an impact, I’m telling you.
