My BS meter is engaged, and I’ve noticed during crisis situations like this that CNN tends to stick to reporting the events. There are no spinners up right now. Just editors and correspondents on the ground.
The reporting is head, shoulders, and hips above Fox right now. Shep Smith was simply gag worthy. I had to change the channel. He compared the situation to the Berlin Wall falling, and then couldn’t get the population of Egypt right. It’s like he’s getting off on all of this.
In fact CNN just broke that Egypts ‘joint chiefs’ were in DC today, and even pointed out the irony of it. They are critical of the WH, and are questioning why Obama hasn’t tried to coordinate a response with other EU heads of state, Russians, or Chinese.
I’m a little surprised at how good. At 1:27 PM Pacific I’m watching curbside coverage of the ruling party headquarters completely destroyed, with fires still burning up and down the street.
It’s amazing that they are able to get the video out of the country given all comms are down. I’m impressed.
