there’s been a lot of people around here who dismiss the protesters as delusional and that this is a repeat of 1979. If that’s true, then who is Khomeini in this situation? Who is the Islamist figurehead who has the type of support and influence he had who could possibly takeover if Mubrak is ousted? Egyptians aren’t even Shia.
I agree. I think there is a lot of idle speculation, but, hey, that’s what the Internet’s here for.
