I worked on the deck for hours today. We definitely received 16 inches. I have about three quarters of it done, I hope enough that it won't collapse. Since it's 8 feet off the ground, a collapse could be serious if we or the dogs are out there.

I am so ready for this winter to be over. How did you fare?

We got 13-14” according to reports.

Our deck is high like yours and will carry the weight. We built it to exceed code.

People with decks should also be aware that it could, rather than collapse, also pull itself off the house. It’s good to check it out if not sure.
