MIL sends us Omaha each Christmas.

And that is why this is much ado over nothing. Omaha's ad campaign is only for the Excessmass Season, they would have pulled the ads after the gift giving season anyway. This is just a method to appease the Vegans and make it appear that they really care about the politics.

No problem Beck, their steaks suck.

OMG! Customer Service just hung up on me.

Of course they did - you are tying up their phone lines while they are trying to take orders from paying customers.

So, whatever you do, don't call them back again and again and again and again.

I just emailed Omaha to tell them I was buying gifts for business associates from Hearst Ranch instead of Omaha as a result of their caving in to the Glenn Beck boycott.

Well that’s weird. I was going to buy a bunch of beef jerky and some steaks tomorrow.

I’ll just order something else online.

We've given up beef and turned entirely to lean pork, turkey, chicken and lots of salmon.

I'd boycot these guys but they don't sell anything I want.

Maybe I can boycot somebody else.

I Just sent this email to Omaha Steaks.

“I understand you have pulled your advertisement from the Glenn Beck show on Fox New. If this is true, I will never eat another of your products. And, I bet I can get at least 10 of my friends to do the same.”

If this is true, we need a national boycott of all Omaha products. We need to find out if they supply meat to restaurant vendors and boycott those restaurants that use those vendors.

I did the same and got an almost immediate response saying they were concerned it would be misinterpreted as support for his political views and that’s why they pulled it. I responded by asking if they advertised on msnbc and if so if they were comfortable being associated with THOSE views. I also pointed out that it struck me as a poor business decision to align themselves with the vegan left rather than meat eating conservatives.

Messaged Omaha Steaks... part of my message-

Your “review and consideration” was poorly done, and will likely result in conservatives, who DO eat beef, from purchasing your products. Perhaps you should look at the
people doing this “review and consideration”, because it is apparent that they are putting their liberal ideology ahead of the interests of your company.

I never saw the ads.

I watch Beck on FNC maybe three-four times a week.
Maybe I’m having “a senior moment”, but I don’t recall seeing a
single “Omaha Steaks” advert.

Believe me, if I had seen one, I’d remember it seeing how I’m a
grade-A carnivore.

This stunt by Omaha Steaks reminds me of a beloved Canadian relative that
has been brainwashed by The Canadian Broadcasting Channel.
Apparently the CBC has crowed repeatedly that no advertizers will
work with Glenn Beck.
I’ve told my mother (a big Beck fan) to tell this relative...
“It’s six months now and Beck is still on the air with plenty of
advertizers...especially those gold companies that make Rep Weiner
of New York prove that he really is a peckerwood.”

Peckerwood is my sanitized word for a rather nasty term.
Fortunately, my mom hasn’t passed on my message.

I called them. Took the 2nd Supervisor to find anyone who knew, but the lady said yes, they had pulled their ads on Fox because they were being played during the Beck program and that they assumed then that they were supporting his political views and that was a “no, no” for Omaha Steaks...they are apolitical, don’t you know...see another post here re: contributions by Omaha Steaks to the Demoncratic party. Need to heat up their lines...I got through too quickly!

Dear Omaha Steaks. I’ll not buy an Omaha Steak because you are idiots. You think that a flippin’ opinion program on a news network has something to do with eating steaks.

That alone means you are too stupid to be trusted not to injure someone. I don’t think I’ll trust my health to such decision-making prowess.

One more thing: forever after when I hear “Omaha Steak”, I will think “political agenda.” Aren’t you glad you made such a big impression?

I don’t even listen to Beck and I’ll support the anti-Omaha Steak boycott.

I have always liked good steaks, porterhouse is my favorite.

I once ordered a selection just to try them out. I grilled a couple of them for myself and my daughter. When we sat down to dinner, we took a bite and both began laughing. They were tough. I mean just plain tough.

Our local supermarket has much better beef. I once asked the butcher and he said they get it from MBPXL in Dodge City, KS. It is just choice but it is always good.

Interestingly, everything else they included in the package was good, especially the hamburgers. Still I will never try them again.
