We wonder our whole lives long how those people were able to swallow this. Well, now we have our teachable moment. Those people in GErmany were not monsters. They were honorable people trying to do the right thing. And they thought obeying their orders was the right thing. If they had challenged the lawfulness of the orders - even here in the US right now - they would have been charged with crimes for not doing as they were told. I apologize for saying I felt like spitting on the US military.

Is that how you apologize, butterdezillion-- by comparing our military to Nazi executioners? Some apology.

Those who fail to understand history are doomed to repeat it.

The Germans were good Christian people. How did they allow the senseless slaughter of so many people? How did they tolerate the smell of burning flesh without doing anything to stop it?

Those are questions well worth answering. And I have to say that the past 2 years have given some staggering answers.

I am not saying that our military is Nazi. I am saying that the same reasoning that would have excused almost everything the Nazis did is being used by our military experts to explain why Lakin’s only job is to shut up and do what he’s told - regardless of whether it is against the Constitution, laws, regulations, and the customs of the military.

Lakin refused to swallow the big lie that his commanding officers have swallowed. Even Michelle Obama doesn't buy it, as she has stated his home country is Kenya.

I have relatives that have a picture of a Nazi Soldier dressed in full Nazi uniform hanging in their living room. He was a loving brother who died in the war marching into Russia, and he was missed by his Brother after the war. So yes, not all Nazis were bad, and all of them were just following orders from their superiors. They never refused an order.

So why the negative connotation of “Executioner” toward all Nazi Soldiers who simply followed legal orders? A little sensitive for some reason?
