One of the common themes that people keep mentioning in talking about the new TSA pat down procedures is that those involved must "enjoy" the groping they're giving people. But, of course, most TSA agents are normal every day people who don't actually want to grope random people. Chris Tolles points us to a post from BoardingArea.com, who reached out to some TSA agents and found that many TSA agents hate the new rules and find it to be sapping morale to have to grope passengers. Some of it appears to be the verbal abuse they're getting from travelers, but some of it is just the fact that they have to keep touching people they'd rather not touch in that way:
"It is not comfortable to come to work knowing full well that my hands will be feeling another mans private parts, their butt, their inner thigh. Even worse is having to try and feel inside the flab rolls of obese passengers and we seem to get a lot of obese passengers!"
Of course, it does seem like a lot of the "morale" part comes from everyone accusing them of molesting them. I recognize, they're not the ones making policy, but many of the people being groped do feel violated and it's not surprising that many of them speak out.

WHAT??? What county? City?
With abuse of power in the job description, and the all-you-can-eat buffet of valuables, the TSA attracts a certain demographic of applicants. They only hate the new pat-downs because they meet with resistance.
"You have the right to ask a Security Officer to change her/his gloves during the physical inspection of your accessible property, before performing a physical search (pat-down,) or any time a Security Officer handles your footwear."
Orlando federal courthouse is a prime example, where thirty thousand images were apparently stored on a background scatter scanner. I have a hard time submitting to just a metal detector at a courthouse, I’d never submit to a virtual strip search at a federal building.
But after all, once all the airports have these scanners, the companies who make them must sell them to new locations, and courthouses seem to be the first to adopt, at every turn, ‘airport style’ security.
But anyone signing up for that work from now forward will be seeking that work. Should be interesting a few years down the road.
Yep- when the fur flies, and sooner or later it does, the one that cooks the books is the one that gets caught in the noose.Might as well be the boss- not you/me.
Privatize the TSA and get rid of them all.
The current administration MUST stop this horrible treatment of GLBT citizens by instituting new policies that do not in any way put different burdens on GLBT citizens that those on straight citizens. The first would be requiring that any person being given a TSA pat-down first be asked what gender of agent they would prefer to have pat them down. In this way, the policy would not have a disperate impact on any GLBT citizen. Also, every TSA checkpoint must have gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and trangendered agents available at all times. If a GLBT citizen requests another similar GLBT citizen to pat them down, they should always have that option (This is no different than all of the business and government offices that must have translators available for the myriad of languages spoken by their customers and potential customers.)
I call on the Obama Administration to implement these changes immediately (or drop the enhanced pat-downs.)
What will eventually happen is that the US Supreme court will rule that government can treat people however government wants.
1. Conceal a remote-controlled fart machine on your person and "let 'er rip!" as the agent begins.
2. Insert joke buzzer up rectum before screening.
3. Rig baggie filled with Campbell's "Big 'n Hearty" beef stew such as to burst when groped, dribbling down your leg and out onto your shoes.
That's just for starters!
Good point!

Sell-out! Great term!
Hitler and Himmler didn’t have any problems finding people to carry out their orders, and Napalitano and Pistole won’t have any problems either.
This is about destroying the American airline industry and hobbling free commerce. Plain and simple.
Exactly what happened in Nazi Germany.
Agreed.
I give this BS not more than 6 mos
With anger and sadness I think that you are right. I hope and trust we will rise and overcome it.
