Instead of TSA groping and x-ray scanning us, wouldn't it be cheaper and more effective to eliminate TSA completely, and instead just put one armed plainclothes guard on every plane?

Probably not considering the fact that there are many thousands of flights in the air at any given time.

But just let the passengers take care of any threats. I'll be damned if I would sit passively while some yahoo tried to light his tennis shoe, underwear, etc. and any person deemed to be acting inappropriately by the flight crew would get put down in the aisle whenever the crew wanted it done.

really it’s all so ridiculous, there was that recent case where the airport agent escorted the guy onto the plane and bypassed security altogether-— it happened on one of the flights that was supposed to blow up over Detroit, so what is really going on.
