Why don’t we build paupers hospitals. When I was a kid it was cheap. But there were wards with 30 beds. We could also pass medical bills through bankruptcy like student loans and taxes. That would give incentives to buy insurance. Managed care should also be outlawed. Community rates could be applied with no pre-existing. Medicaid coverage should not be for private rooms and such but should offer good care on an inexpensive basis with no mal-practice suits allowed. We are broke.
Because EVERYONE wants the best and most that medical science has to offer, no matter their ability to pay. As soon as someone tried to offer "Walmart" value care and the inevitable death or bad outcome occurred, lawyers would be on them like flies on ..... well, you know.
