[More] Bad news for Dems: Rain in the forecast for 2010 Election Day

In more bad news for Democrats, rain is in the forecast for much of the country on Election Day.

Weather tracking websites, including weather.com and The Old Farmer's Almanac, are calling for rain in the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions, with chances for precipitation in other parts of the country as well.

According to Laurel Harbridge, a Northwestern University political science professor, GOP voters are not typically discouraged by rain. “Republicans are helped by bad weather ... it does harm Democratic prospects.”

Wendy Schiller, a political science professor at Brown University, echoed Harbridge. “Bad weather almost always hurts Democrats,” she said. “The traditional Democratic base tends to include lower-income people and the elderly. Both of those demographic groups have a hard time getting to the polls.”

Political experts say the rain will especially help Republicans this year because the conservative base is motivated to win back control of Congress.

“It will require an even bigger get-out-to-vote effort by the Democrats if the weather is bad,” said Schiller.

The fact that the Rats base won’t vote if it’s raining tells you all you need to know about them.

Ignore this silly media myth that high voter turnout always favors the democrats and low voter turnout always favors the republicans. It has been disproven so many times now it doesn't deserve to be taken at all seriously.

As just one example, the Brown-Coakley race in January had an enormous turnout for a special election, and Brown won in a state that almost never supports republicans.

Why would bad weather hurt Demoncrats and help Repubs?
Because the two groups have different motivations for voting.
The Acorn types vote for money, or food stamps and self.
The Patriots types vote for freedom, liberty, country, and for posterity.
We will win and win big. We have to make good and roll back the Leftist agenda in a major way. God help us all if we don’t.

Rain, snow, sleet, hail, broken glass, and other barriers won’t stop me from casting my ballot (okay, pressing the screen) next Tuesday.

It has to be “Fair Weather” for Democrats to vote, while Conservatives are so angry they will “Crawl Over Broken Glass” to vote.

Rain would not be a deterrent for stalwart Republicans but Democrats are likely to just stay home and smoke pot. Pray for lots of rain and cheap marijuana on Nov 2.

In this case, though, low voter turnout helps the Republicans.

The Republicans are very motivated to vote this year. If only a tiny tiny group of people voted this year, we can be certain that they would all be Republican.

No one out there is as happy with Obama as many Republicans are unhappy with Obama.

We benefit by a low turnout, and we benefit by rain on election day.

Not necessarily all the time, but definitely in 2010.

Plenty of Republicans smoke pot.

You would have better luck if you were to mention doing gay sex or something like that. Something about welfare checks as well could be more accurate.

We’ve had local contests here in years past that the dims have won by only a few hundred votes, some by less than 100.

Don’t EVER think your vote doesn’t count - it does!
