I doubt if China will be confronted, and as for them joining in sanctions - most unlikely. They will go along with it at the UN, and just carry on as normal otherwise.
Isn’t it about time the U.S.A. helps Japan and S.Korea become nuclear players?
Yo Chi-com pukes, how ya like them apples?
“.....tightened the financial noose around Iran’s ayatollahs.”
Is that the same as having them by the “ayatollahs?”
Do you have a list of the most up-to-date sanctions (dates, industries/sectors, market segments, nature of sanctions & other details) that the U.S., unilaterally or otherwise, is & has been, supposedly, imposing on Iran “to isolate the Iranian regime”? Plz post it.
Many argue the U.S. & U.S. companies continue to have trade relations with Iran (openly or surreptitiously, often thru 3rd parties) & the so-called sanctions will have no impact on the *Iranian Regime*.
Two related points, so far, which I’d like to highlight:
1. If the U.S. continues to have trade relations w/Iran & yet blames China (who is The Main U.S. creditor - and given the U.S. budget deficit), then the argument that China (or Russia, the EU, or some central/South American govts, as examples) are the main culprits, can be construed as hypocritical.
IOW, one can say, what is good for the U.S. (in trading w/ a terrorist regime) can also be good for Other countries.
Note: I neither favor nor condone ANY country, individual or Corporation doing business w/the Iranian Regime, directly or thru 3rd parties.
2. Did the U.S. not have sanctions on *Iraq* & supposedly *Saddam’s Regime*, following the Gulf war in early 1990’s? Obviously, Saddam & his gang were very much alive & kicking until 2003 Iraq war.
