A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

You’re all very welcome. It’s the least I can do. I’ve pretty much have given up on relying on the lamestream media to dig up any good stories/photos on GWB. It’s not always easy, but somehow I manage to find some great things on our president. And no, DollyCali, GWB didn’t attend any of the Mavericks games in Dallas or Miami. He’s a diehard baseball fan, so you’re likely to see him watching the Texas Rangers games in Arlington, TX! :)

BUSH MAKING RETURN TRIP TO CWS
http://www.omaha.com/article/20110614/NEWS01/706149892

Excerpt:
Catcher Tanner Lubach figures George W. Bush has thrown his share of ceremonial first pitches, so he’ll be expecting a strike.

When the former president takes the mound before Saturday’s opening game of the 2011 College World Series, the all-state selection from Lincoln Southwest High School will be behind the plate.

“He’s got a decent arm,” Lubach said of the former president and former Texas Rangers owner. “I’ll be sure to catch a good strike.”

Wasn't it wonderful to see President Bush throw out the perfect 1st pitch at the CWS baseball game on Saturday? I hope you also got to see him sit in the booth with the 2 anchors and be the guest "sports commentator" during the 1st hour of the ESPN telecast. He was a natural; he really knows his baseball stats right at the top of his head! You know, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if GWB would consider doing more sports punditry at these baseball games as his next post-presidential career move!

Here’s a great interview that Jenna Bush gave to People.com. Seems like her dad has been bugging her to hurry up and have kids so he can finally be a grandpa!

Jenna Bush Hager: My Dad Wants Grandkids

I've also posted a candid pic of GWB and Laura greeting guests at the Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs last Tuesday, June 14. They are going to be wonderful grandparents someday!

Thanks so much for posting these amazing photos . . . Last evening, I tried to post an article about this event to no avail — the FR website kept giving me an error message. [So I’m VERY happy that you were able to ‘getter done’!!]

Nagin of Chocolate City fame was on the news this am...promoting his book....and saying they didn't get assistance for the Katrina right away because they were black...

He did say that he probably should have called for evacuation sooner....Which wasn't his job...

Send him a picture of the buses in the parking lot. And where was he when the levee broke??

I think eventually President Bush will get the credit for many, many things including the Iraq war.

He believed in LIFE!! He believed in Freedom!! And he believed in God!!

A true advocate of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

bush has been a model ex-president. he keeps himself out of the limelight and he doesn’t go on record to criticize his successor, no matter how much he wants to (and how much we would want to) — because O would then use it as leverage.

Do you think they were back at the Broadmoor because that is where they celebrated his 40th birthday...and now his 60th is coming up?

Well actually they were staying there to speak at a energy conference last week. They do have a history with the Broadmoor resort going all the way back to 1986 when GWB celebrated his 40th birthday. Yup, his birthday is coming up in a few weeks and he’ll be turning 65! Can’t wait for that!
