Analysts: White House Panicking Over Elections Say Dems Are Distancing Themselves From Obama, Angry Over Economy, Health Care Fallout

By Jimmy So

(CBS) With many polls indicating the Republicans may win back control of the House of Representatives (and possibly the Senate as well) in the upcoming mid-term elections, Jim VandeHei, the executive editor of Politico, told CBS' "Face the Nation" that the Obama administration is in a horrible position.

"Does the White House understand this?" asked guest host Harry Smith. "Do you feel any sense of panic or concern" on the part of the administration?

"They get it. There's panic. There's concern," VandeHei said. "The reality for this administration stinks, politically and practically, when it comes to the economy. You're not going to be able to change that 9.6-percent unemployment figure. You can't get anything from Congress in the next couple of months."

CBS Congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes said the Democrats are distancing themselves from President Obama.

"Not only are they running away from President Obama, they're running away from being Democrats in some cases. In some races you actually see the Democratic candidates not really mentioning that they're a Democrat in their campaign ads," Cordes said.

If there is a huge Republican sweep these elections, the Republicans and conservatives should pound home the idea that it is because:

“America rejects the ideas and philosophy of the Democrats.”

Very clear on this subject: The Democrats are *wrong*. The public does not want what Democrats want. This is *not* because more than half the public are “stupid”. It is because they are *smarter* than the Democrats.

The elections mean that *socialism* is rejected as a failed system.

The elections mean that “public-private partnerships” (aka fascist economics) is rejected as a failed system.

It means the citizenry has realized that big government is inherently *bad* government.

I don’t believe the WH is in panic. A Republican Congress is the only chance BHO has to be reelected in 2012. That’s why he is throwing every Dem overboard. I agree.

Given suggestions that right-wing activists are more fired-up to support their candidates, VandeHei added, "I don't understand how liberals can sit at home and feel like Obama has not done enough for them. This has been a breathtakingly activist government for the last two years. "Some day they're going to sit back and go, 'Wow, look at all they did!'"

Wow, they really don't get it, do they? This whole idea that if Americans truly understood what Obama did for them, they'd be a lot more appreciative. FOOLS! We do understand; that's why the Dims are in the predicament they're in.

He constantly blames his political opponents for his own arrogant incompetence.

It won't work. If you are the majority party and the economy tanks on your watch you are screwed.

No finger pointing, whining, “recovery summer”, economic summits, teachable moments, or Biden promises of rosy economic numbers can hide the cruel cold truth.

He has lost credibility across all groups.

Epic failure.

“not really mentioning that they’re a Democrat in their campaign ads,”

They’ve found a winning strategy!

You're not going to be able to change that 9.6-percent unemployment figure.

Especially since the real number is more like 16.7%!

Only in very close races with no one watching.

Hoven leads Potter in the North Dakota senate race 65 to 25%. No amount of voter fraud short of stuffing the ballot boxes with tens of thousands of ballots will ensure a Potter victory.

It is nearly 2 months to the election and the enemy is cornered and ready to fight.

I worry about this, too. They are corrupt marxists but they are not stupid and they will not roll over and die.

We need to keep recruiting voters and make sure we turn them out in November or we are screwed.

“I still think you can start to pull people back,” VandeHei said. “At the end of the day, it has to be that Obama has to find that magic. How can he get liberals to be as excited about him and about Democratic change as they were two years ago? “

ROTFL That magic was just that, smoke and mirrors. People now see what an incompetent zer0 really is. No more women with mascara streaming down their faces or passing out in the anointed bumbler’s presence. He’s now just a community organizing Chicago thug in way over his head who has somehow been able to shove unconstitutional mandates down our throats while nationalizing huge swaths of American industry.

The magic is gone, there’s no putting Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Not worth the popcorn if we elect RINOs like this:

Don't let this 40yr incumbent RINO and personal friend of Joe Biden "ascend" to his old senate seat. He has $3 million in donations from corporations he voted to bail out. Support Christine O'Donnell:

Send her a donation now! the primary is on 9/14

The Republicans could just say:

“This ad was not paid for by the stimulus bill, the bank bail out, or the BP slush fund.”
