We dont generally allow the building on top of cemeteries. Bingo. We could not properly bury the brothers and sisters murdered that day by MUSLIM extremists. Ground Zero is hallowed ground, where the murdered rest for eternity.
We must not build a house of worship for the religion that laid waste to these souls directly over where their ashes rest.

I’m thinking also of how Arlington Cemetery came to be.

When we visited India in 1995, while touring the country, we saw people living in cemeteries, laying their clothes to dry on headstones (quite bizarre to see so many colorful clothing items in a place for the dead)—my husband (India native, now US citizen) told me way back then that they were Muslims who had no respect for Christian/Hindu beliefs. I remember being dumbfounded, and wondering what the Muslim reaction to someone NOT Muslim doing the same thing in a Muslim cemetery might be?
“Death.”

Excerpt . . .
I dont think any treatment of the topic can be complete without reference to the meaning behind the name of the initiative that intends to establish it the Cordoba Initiative or to the plan to name the mosque Cordoba House.
