WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation. "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

Just so you know that is not something that is back dated...I have been posting that link on Free Republic for well over a year...maybe closer to two years. I can’t remember when I first read it.
There are people who disavow that reading (other Torah readers) for various reasons..none of which I remember or could determine if had merit since I am not Jewish and know nothing about the religion.
All I know is that I believe God can speak in various ways..even through lottery numbers. I believe those Illinois lottery numbers were a sign.

For me, the poll numbers are simply an approximate measure of the public's mood and perceptions. I get a much better feel for how the people feel about Obama by reading articles and comments (from all over the web). Watching the tone and content of pieces in the MSM change is also a strong indicator of where Obama's approval stands.
Recently, we've begun to see criticism of Obama rising from within the ranks of the Democrat party, and from individual liberal journalists and talking heads. The honeymoon is most definitely over for him, and it's now clear that the general group agreement on the left is that it's now ok to criticize The One.
Without a doubt, there remains a strong base of support for Obama in the MSM and on the left, but they're at least up to registering their displeasure with him now. Some of the condemnations and near-attacks we've seen coming from the left against Obama in recent weeks have been real head turners.
It's observations like these that cause me to believe that his poll numbers are about to drop even lower. That, coupled with the fact that he continues to set off bombs in his own camp with everything he says and does.
Without the values, freedom and everything America stands for, let’s face it, it’s just another piece of land. Granted it’s our land, the land of our ancestors, the land we fought and it’s just so painful to watch it’s demise.
So, you suggest that we abandon all that our ancestors built, and run away with our tails between our legs? You're ready to just roll over and give your homeland to these heathens without a fight?

John Boehner, the Ohio Republican who is the House minority leader, said: ”The decision to build this mosque so close to the site of ground zero is deeply troubling, as is the president’s decision to endorse it.”
“The American people certainly don’t support it,” Mr. Boehner said.
Representative Peter King, a New York Republican, said that while the Muslim community has the right to build the mosque, doing so needlessly offends too many people.
“President Obama is wrong,” Mr. King said. “It is insensitive and uncaring for the Muslim community to build a mosque in the shadow of ground zero. While the Muslim community has the right to build the mosque they are abusing that right by needlessly offending so many people who have suffered so much. The right and moral thing for President Obama to have done was to urge Muslim leaders to respect the families of those who died and move their mosque away from Ground Zero. Unfortunately the president caved into political correctness.”
Newt Gingrich, the former House Speaker, also condemned the proposed mosque and the President’s comments.
“There is nothing surprising in the president’s continued pandering to radical Islam,” he said. “What he said last night is untrue and in accurate. The fact is this is not about religious liberty.”
Mr. Gingrich said the proposed mosque would be a symbol of Muslim “triumphalism” and that building the mosque near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks “would be like putting a Nazi sign next to the Holocaust Museum.”

First of all, that graduation picture you posted, is a high school graduation. Obama, at 17, wouldn’t be a Mason. At best, at that age, a boy could be a DeMolay, but since none of his paternal male relatives and none of his maternal relatives were Masons, he wouldn’t be allowed to join that organization. Ergo, even IF ( and that is no Masonic handshake, not even by your own posted illustrations ! ) it were one, he wouldn’t have know it.
