Ellison calls for resignation of White House press secretary Gibbs

Rep. Keith Ellison called for the resignation of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs after he said the “professional left” would only be satisfied with the Obama administration after “we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon.”

In an interview with The Hill, Gibbs vented further: “I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested.” On people who said that President Obama was too centrist, he said, “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

Rep. Ellison told The Huffington Post, “This is not the first time that Mr. Gibbs has made untoward and inflammatory comments and I certainly hope that people in the White House don’t share his view that the left is unimportant to the presiden. I understand him having some loyalty to the president who employs him, but I think he’s walking over the line.”

Ellison said that Gibbs’ resignation was warranted. “That’d be fair, because this isn’t the first time. And, again, people of all political shades worked very hard to help the president become the president. Why would he want to go out and deliberately insult the president’s base? And why would he confuse legitimate critique with some sort of lack of loyalty.

No, his first act was to demand that a Koran be used while taking his oath for office.

Just another not-so-veiled attempt at voter fraud. What does he care anyway you don’t need an ID to vote in Minnesota just a neighbor to vouch for you (at least that’s the way it was when I lived in the PRM)

On people who said that President Obama was too centrist, he said, “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

Or Hillary Clinton or Chris Dodd or Charles Rangel or John Edwards or any of the other 80 or so RATS who ran for President last time.

As a matter of fact, have you ever known a Lefty who was satisfied with anything?

They're the most miserable people on the face of the earth.

Gibbs is one of the best things Republicans have going for them right now. Keep him I say.

Can’t get rid of the Obama staff pillow biter, unless they have a fluffer in the wings.

I’m listening to Hannity who says that Gibbs has been put up to it by Zero to make Zero look centrist and to allow Ellison and his ilk an opportunity to defend his fellow Marxists.

I suspect that Hannity may have a point. The likelihood that Gibbs would publicly stray this far out of the pig pen is nil and his recent opinions about his fellow travelers should be quickly and completely dismissed as bad acting in an implausible script.
