Well I don’t think it’s clear that it’s blind loyalty in the first place. I think she was asked for, and explicitly promised him, that degree of support, and as a conscientious Christian she is keeping the promise. Whatever can be said about the arrangement, it seems Hayworth is a more damaged candidate than any layman knew, and Sarah now has McCain’s ear (which is almost certainly why he has tacked as rightward as he has).

If what I suggested were true, I wouldn’t consider it “blind loyalty”, as much as self-sacrifice.

I’m sure there a plenty of cases where honor and self-sacrifice was the wrong choice from the leadership perspective. I wouldn’t expect Palin to throw anyone under the bus.

I’d support Palin enthusiastically in 2012 if nothing changed for the worse.
